Franx, I posted this earlier in this thread but don't feel like going through and finding it, so I'll just post it again. Here's how to use repent's guide to order from the US: Start with his guide: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=197 Where it differs for us in the US is: - in step 3, for COUNTRY select RUSSIA (POCCYR) instead of USA (CWA). - in step 8, skip all the UKASH stuff - in step 9, instead of creating a WME purse (euros), create a WMZ purse (USD) - skip step 10 For the Paypal to WebMoney transfer, start here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=226 You will then get a rejection e-mail from exwp like this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=302 At which point you have to write back to them and request a one-time transfer from Paypal to WMZ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=331 When that's approved, move on to step 11 and finish the rest of the steps. Hopefully that clears it up for you. Also, the exwp transfer fee was $10 USD for me, don't know why somebody earlier said it cost them 28 Euros.

It's really quite easy, just right-click on your purse, select 'move WM* to WM*' or something similar to that, and you just need his purse number.

Anyone interested in forming a training squadron?
GregP replied to SunDown's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
But you COULD have a copy! I posted a step-by-step process for those of us in the US who can't use UKASH: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=565835&postcount=386 -
PoleCat posted a link to his, which I've been using so far just to get up in the air, but not sure how 'realistic' it is: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=542106&postcount=29 By the way, finally mostly got my axis assignment problems worked out. I think the link Professor provided for the new input dll may have helped, but I'm not sure. I still can't get the game to recognize the pitch and yaw axes in the setup screen, but it's not really a problem since they default to controlling pitch and yaw anyway.

I agree with crazysundog - I believe that warning is normal, as I too got it. I tried to track down why it was saying that and couldn't find anything.

Did you ever get an e-mail notification from exwp (with a link to click which takes you to the message) from the admin saying that the transaction was completed? And you specifically ask to have the Paypal transfer go into your WMZ purse, right? And you provided them the long "Z" number to do so? I checked my Paypal and it says "Anastasia Birkle" with an e-mail address of "support@ratingpopular.com".

For those in the US Someone asked for some help with ordering from the US, so I put this together to hopefully make it easier for those of us who can't do the UKASH thing and instead have to transfer from Paypal to WebMoney via exwp. First start with repent's excellent guide: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=197 Where it differs for us in the US is: - in step 3, for COUNTRY select RUSSIA (POCCYR). - in step 8, skip all the UKASH stuff - in step 9, instead of creating a WME purse (euros), create a WMZ purse (USD) - skip step 10 - and stop after this Now do the following: For the Paypal to WebMoney transfer, start here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=226 You will then get a rejection e-mail from exwp like this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=302 At which point you have to write back to them and request a one-time transfer from Paypal to WMZ: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...&postcount=331 When that's approved, move on to step 11 and finish the rest of the steps. If anybody from the US who's successfully ordered and downloaded sees that I've missed something, please let me know.

True, although you all missed a perfect opportunity to ironically chastise me to "RTFM!". :)
-
Sure you're typing in your WMZ purse number correctly (Z followed by a lot of numbers)?
-
Guys, thanks for clearing this up for me. Kinda embarrassing that I didn't realize I had to select 'axial commands' especially as it quite specifically mentions this in the Quick Start Manual ... which I myself went to the trouble to translate (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33372) and thus have no excuse for not knowing about. :)
-
Right, I tried both of those things, are none of the axes on either my Cougar or pedals are detected in the setup screen. They do stuff in-game - the Cougar does pitch/roll while the pedals create some weird motion that I can't figure out, thus my trying to reassign them in the setup screen - but seem to not be detected in the setup screen. Why would that be?
-
Any of you guys that've got BS working - how did you assign axes in-game? When I click on, for example, the 'Rudder' category, which shows me that X and Z are assigned to the rudder, there is no way for me to choose any axes of my CH Pro Pedals; they're listed as another column, next to 'Keyboard', so are apparently recognized as another controller; but no matter what I do, when I try to 'add' a command for rudder, my only choices from the dropdown box are 100+ joystick buttons and POVs, no axes. Same for my Cougar. What am I missing here?

Guys, After I was able to buy and download the Russian version of DCS Black Shark today, I decided to give the 'arcade' mode a try, since it looked interesting. To make things easier I went through and translated the 19-page Quick Start Manual using Babelfish, then went back through and cleaned it up where I could. I've created a Word doc with each page from the PDF translated correspondingly. Aside from the Yoda-speak, I think it's in pretty good shape. Just to be clear - this is NOT an official ED release, I just did this on my own. I've uploaded it here (http://www.box.net/shared/xfxadd4pd3), enjoy!

svhalk = Shkval? :) Yes, I do; actually I'm just using Polecat's profile that he posted a few weeks ago: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=542106&postcount=29

I don't think this has anything to do with SST, rather, it's that Black Shark (and every other sim ever made) can't detect mode changes when assigning controller options. For example the same occurs with the Cougar, and that's why I have to design my own profile rather than rely on the in-game settings. Oh and at this point this is much faster anyway, as I can't understand the Russian-language key commands. :)

UPDATE: found a buyer, so offer is over. So guys, listen - I sorta screwed up the Paypal to WebMoney transfer because I sent $40 USD - I knew there was the $10 exwp fee but I wasn't sure if there were any more, so I put in $40 to be safe (so I'd have at least $30 USD afterward). The Black Shark buy cost me $12.29 USD, leaving $18.71 in my account ... see where I'm going with this? :) I'd like to help out somebody else from the US so they don't have to waste time using exwp to transfer Paypal to WebMoney. If somebody from the US can Paypal me $20 (I figure that's about fair, as that covers the cost of the game + half the $10 fee I paid to exwp + the amount I lose from the Paypal transaction) and has already set up a WebMoney purse, I'll transfer the whole $18.71 I have left over to you, and then you can follow repent's instructions for ordering from the 1C website. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND that when you start your download, you use a resumable download manager like DownThemAll for Firefox (http://www.downthemall.net/) - when my 'setup.exe' (the 1.3GB file) got to 99% this morning, it then crapped out and gave a 'timeout error' - seems the 1C website went down for about a half hour; after that I was able to resume and finish it. Quite a scare, so don't let it happen to you! PM me if you're interested - and please, only people in the US, since this whole process is harder for us as we lack access to UKASH vouchers over here.
-
Well alright then - finished up the downloads this morning and I'm IN!!! I'm frankly amazed at how good everything looks, and I still get pretty good framerates (15-20 FPS) with everything cranked up at 1920x1080 and 8x AF / 4x AA. Now on to creating a Cougar profile!
-
Well, damn ... all my gaming time is currently being taken up by Fallout 3 and STALKER Clear Sky, but seeing Repent's great step-by-step guide lead to guys here in the US get up and flying their own Black Sharks within hours ... I couldn't resist! And for 23 bucks, well worth a try. I just did the 'reply to exwp admin' thing too, waiting for a response.

Well here's my current desktop, a boring old LockOn screenshot of Walmis's F-15. :)
-
Great work, sylkhan, thanks a lot! Sure the translation's goofy sometimes, but it's certainly much more helpful than the purely Russian text. Given we've got another month until the official English version, this will do nicely. :)
-
I don't think there's a 50-word limit - I was pasting entire pages from the Russian manual into Babelfish and it translated the entire thing: http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ Anyway, hey look, I agree this could take forever, I just thought if we could gather a group of people willing to do 20-30 pages each (a few hours' work) we could bang it all out in a very short time. The geek factor alone seemed like enough motivation to at least propose it. :)
-
Just did the first 5 pages of the first section: http://www.box.net/shared/pdntsf99zl It ain't pretty, but with some creative reading you can figure it out.
-
Thanks Wags, but there's no duplication of effort to worry about, I don't think: if I can rally these guys to it, I think we could knock out an ugly but functional FM translation within a week. :)
-
Y'know, guys, in my opinion Babelish does a better translation (albeit nowhere near perfect, of course) than Google Translation. What if we broke up the translation between us? If there are 20 of us willing to work on it, that'd be 18-19 pages each: you translate, section by section, each page of your allotted part of the manual, then create a Word doc with a 1-to-1 page correspondence. Then all assembled, we'd have the Russian original manual and a page-for-page English translation. Why not try it? I've just done this for the first two pages of the Table of Contents, cleaned it up a bit, and uploaded it here, took me less than 10 mins: http://www.box.net/shared/0fmjeien6o

DCS: Black Shark English Key Command List and HOTAS assignments
GregP replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Polecat, this is an interesting comment from you considering that I see your Cougar profile doesn't make use of the /U, /M, /D toggles! :) No insult or criticism intended, just gave me a chuckle. I do very much appreciate, BTW, having your profile to start with, thus saving me all the time of typing in the commands. Thanks!
