Yes, TouchBuddy is nice on a second monitor - I just bought one this weekend, a 22" widescreen from Best Buy for $180, pretty good deal and I couldn't resist.

I just bought a second monitor too, so I spent some time playing with dual-monitor setups over the weekend. As far as I know, there is simply no way to get LockOn, or most other games for that matter, to automatically span across two monitors, regardless of whether the Windows Desktop is already doing it, unless there's specifically an option in the graphics config to choose a resolution that uses it (for example 2560x1024). Regarding rf rate, it means refresh rate, but is measured much differently for an LCD than a CRT. With CRTs it really affects eye strain, whereas with LCDs it doesn't. zaelu, I was able to download both pictures, but the bigger one only shows up as 11MB, are you sure yours in 50MB? Even this 11MB one, though, seems to eventually crash the programs I try to open it with when I try to zoom in close. What program do you use to view it?

Guys, I asked this question months ago and Chizh confirmed that BS will in fact have the 'aspect ratio resetting' bug fixed. I didn't realize that the -25T had a problem with showing 'true' widescreen', so I don't know if that'll be fixed. But for now, as others have suggested, using LoCFG seems to be the easiest way to make sure it's set correctly.

Thanks for the quick answer, Skypat. But if I do what you suggested, won't I lose any changes that the skin pack made to the meinit.xml that were added to support the new skins? Anyway, I just downloaded the skins pack again from lockonfiles and found that it had been updated for 1.12. So I'll just unapply my current skins package (which should revert my meinit.xml back to 1.12a) and then apply the updated skins package. Hopefully there weren't any changes to that file between 1.12 and 1.12a!

I recently built a new machine and had to reinstall LockOn; I used the retail LockOn CD, then the Flaming Cliffs downloadable version, then patch 1.12a. Last night I applied the Su25+Fictional+Skins package by ED through ModMan, and in so doing realized that the meinit.xml file was being modified by the package, with the readme stating that it would revert this file back to the 1.11 version. So now I'm wondering, did 1.12a make any changes to this file that I've now lost by applying the skins package AFTER the 1.12a patch?

Oh I don't know, two or three grand. :) j/k, honestly I don't remember. Maybe $500 in mods? It's insane, I know. I guess I can't quite say "it was worth it", because damn that's a lot of money to spend on a $300 HOTAS, but I can without a doubt say that NO other stick I've ever seen even comes close to the smooth motion that a modded Cougar has.

Rich, have you ever tried a modded Cougar, one without the 'ruts' and original spring force? I ask because I've got a Cougar with the Evenstrain and Hall Sensors mods, and I feel I've reached flightstick perfection with this setup. Whenever I try out a stick like the X-52 in stores, or even the CH Fighterstick, I'm annoyed by the uneven response as I move the stick around the entire range of motion. I would imagine, if you felt that your X-52 was so smooth, that you'd be positively ecstatic with a modded Cougar.

I too would really like to play this game, but damn, 42 euros is like 500 bucks over here these days with the exchange rates. :) Will have to wait for the proper US release next year.

Hmmm, well I cheated by looking at the Flaming Cliffs manual, but is it an R-27R/ER? Certainly looks like it other than the rear fins, which appear delta-shaped while the manual shows more clipped-delta-shaped. But that WOULD be interesting if a MRM could be carried by the Su-39, problem is, aren't they radar-guided? How would the -39 target it?

Hmph. And here I thought the answer was, just like G-suits and parachutes, flight path markers are for pansies. Real men like Russian fighter pilots don't need 'em. ;)
