  1. I did my whole Mods/Terrains folder with it and observed no change in quality at 1440p. I did up the minTexSize to 2048 though. Yeah don't do that, some textures do require the 32-bit format. I think if you search for "-f DXT5" and just delete it everywhere it should default back to the original format of the texture, don't quote me on that though. Editing terrain textures is still very untested and i only posted that config as a playing ground.
  2. This should convert ALL textures.
  3. I think the root cause of the issue was my GPU driver acting up, i had memory errors happen about 2-3 times since I bought this card and DDU fixes it every time, I hope it isn't dying. I've uninstalled process lasso because I thought multicore finally behaves normal but apparently nope, above normal priority and unchecking some of your cpu cores is still increasing performance. (In my case CPU0, 11 cores remaining for DCS) I'm gonna add things one by one to see if there's any issues, thanks for letting me know that this script doesn't cause any problems.
  4. Yeah, i recommend using visual studio code to edit it. How is your guys performance after the recent update? I'm experiencing some issues and i don't know if it's due to this mod, as ED changed how VRAM is managed in the last update.
  5. Yes Interesting, so it did not work on a 32-bit Powershell 7.4?
  6. If you don't use a mod manager for it then absolutely yes. If you use a mod manager not really. Ideally yes, if you don't experience any problems then no need though.
  7. Sadly only cows are optimizable without loosing quality. You could make medium terrain textures with this script if you really wanted tho, just need to adjust the whitelists
  8. Mostly fixed with todays update, it can still be triggered if you move your mouse really fast over cockpit elements like switches and knobs.
  9. Why do you want tnullo run it again? Today's patch introduced cool tinted windows :kappa: I've taken a look and it's correct as is, most of these liveries do not contain roughmet or normal textures and just use the default ones.
  10. yeet it out If there's any folders remaining in Temp(orary) that means it errored out on that zip file.
  11. Probably HB names their glass textures differently and you need to blacklist that, weird that it's giving a missing texture though.
  12. There's currently no logging implemented so i'll need to see what you're doing to cause the problem. Contact me on Discord: kbu
  13. What windows version are you on?
  14. In case it was missed: You (ED) are absoultely free to use and abuse this script however you want.
  15. I'm sorry for swearing but that's a fucking neat mod manager, I'll add it as a recommendation in the main post. I still don't follow, what exactly would you like added to the script?
  16. Please elaborate No. In my case Terrain textures low and textures medium before optimzation produced the same performance as Terrain Textures High and Textures High after optimisations.
  17. It just uses the LODs that are generared in .dds files. High = 100% resolution Medium = 50%? resolution Low 25%? resolution Tbh with so many modules having wastly different texture sizes it should just be under special options with a numerical value of the compression you want.
  18. Also dear Eagle Dynamics, the license on that script is WTFPL.
  19. UPDATE 07.09.2024 1. Changed the default file blacklist to *refl* as I noticed choppy reflections on the F-16 MFDs I recommend to: Disable all mods Delete the old mod folders Run a slow repair Rerun the script
  20. I'll have to check how it behaves on a next update, but most likely you're going to have to disable the mod before an update, otherwise it's gonna download all the original textures again. And it wouldn't be a seperate section, it would have to be very tightly incorporated and debugged. For now i recommend keeping it as an OvGME mod on a separate drive and rerunning only if you notice any missing textures. New modules can be optimised by running the script only on their folders and merging the two mods.
  21. I've updated the instructions to be more clear, let me know if you are having any issues now.
  22. Fixed the script creating empty folders.
  23. Also added all apache reflection files and the A-10C HMCS to the blacklist.
