Using the ADI in the SU27

Ta, looking it up now. -
ED, I have one small and very simple request
thaFunkster replied to thaFunkster's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yeah GhostDog, very funny, I did notice that, but thought I would let it slide. (Corrected). steve: I care, and ED should care. It looks glaringly unprofessional. It's like my Tai Chi teacher who's second language is English, he put out these emails and presentations that are terribly worded for his business. I have offered to correct them for him, but he takes offence. Some second language speakers do not realise the repercussions and the impression that this makes - it looks really bad... -
Lol, only just got what you did there. Nice one ;)

Some of the English in the campaign briefings and mission briefings is really bad. Some of it actually does not make sense. Please get someone who's first language is English to proof read the mission briefings for FC 2.0...As the ones in 1.1 look really unprofessional, it just looks bad. Ill do it if you want, proof reading and correcting all of the mission breifings from FC would not take more than 2, 3 hours work maximum I imagine, so it's a pretty small cost...

Using the ADI in the SU27
thaFunkster replied to thaFunkster's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Exactly, and the main reason I try to follow the course lines is because I am practising precise flying. If I stop, I will get sloppy again. I am practising so that when the time comes my precision flying skills are good and 104th Carrier Quals will feel easy. Thanks for the advice about Ironhand's tutorials, I have never seen any, I will look them up. -
Lock On demo -tried Lomac for the 1st time

Well, if you want a detailed aircraft study and realistc flight model, then the SU-25T in Flaming Cliffs is pretty damn good. I personally hate the thing because it is such a pain in the ar*e to fly, it's always wobbling about, yawing and flipping out if you are not gentle with it.... But if you are interested in fast jet combat, and Multi-player especially, there is really nothing else out there, especially nothing *semi* recent that still looks good. -
Just wondering how closely people follow the waypoint course needles in the SU-27. Personally, I have been trying to improve my flying skills by staying on course to the best of my abilty, but the recommnded flght path is often strange. For example, you are usually instructed to turn too late before a waypoint, meaning that you need to do a large correction to get on course for the next one. There is usually three or four back and forth corrections before you are lined up. Do other people have this experience?

Ah, I dont know. It is a different type of humour in my experience. From what I know, they have an alright sense of humour but toungue in cheek style like I did here just would not translate..

That's great! So its basically an expansion of the Lock On map??

Yeh, I think it is the BS map...

Flaming Cliffs 1.1 and Windows 7
thaFunkster replied to Jack_Bauer's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I had problems, and could not get it to run, until I found that Starforce update, now it works fine. Except, that in some SP campaign missions I get no radio message sound at all, which makes it kind of hard to tell what is going on when subtitles are off... --- @Cosmonaut: Regarding Framerate issues, I actually did benchmarking in ArmaII comparing against XP, and found that Win 7 ran about 30% faster. You should look for the Starforce update, you can get 1.12b to work, you just need to install the update. -

Ok, thank you for saying so.

Sorry to spoil the novelty, but this music was in Raven Shield, one of my all time favourite games.... So we now have proper radio chatter and instructions in mission? That is something I will look forward to most of all...

Ah well, I certainly cant get too upset for being criticised after posting something like this... :) It was worth it though, I had a lot of fun making this.

Ok, edited, try now... --- Bingo! "Tongue in cheek" is an appropriate expression here. The irony is, and I knew this would happen...The Russian sense of humour is so different, that they will take the whole thing seriously, and think that I actually felt the need to apologise and make amends, where as that itself was poking fun at Russia. So Westerners get it, but the Russians, who it is directed at wont get it... --- Lucas, about you post below, ok. I had no idea that I was flying a lesser model....Only the cannon would be relevant though, as I dont use EOS when close in dogfighting, just vertical scan mode (not sure what that is callled in the Flanker) and the MK1 eyeball. I was wondering why it is so much harder to take out an f15 with a flanker than vice-versa..The F15 seems to absorb so much more punishment, but maybe that lack of cannon is why...
-
Darkwanderer, what are you saying? I dont see how I was blaming everything on political factors... To tell you the truth, the reaction to the first video mildly upset me, but amused me more than anything. I thought that seeing as that group of Russians seem to take themselves so seriously, it was a good chance to stir them up some more. What better way to do it, I thought, than to post a video about the Flanker where at the end I say that it is trash. But, I thought, that would be too provocative, not to mention offending all the Western players who are quite fond of the Flanker. So, I thought I could do that to annoy them, then make it out to be just a joke. The whole point of the thing was just to have a bit of fun with what had happened, it was in no way meant to be the least bit serious..... --- About you saying that I could not admit I was wrong, yes that was true at first. But afterwards I thought about it, and thought "yeah I can actually see why they are offended". It was just like a video I downloaded from Grizzly's cave that had an SU-33 shooting down all these F15s, and the F15s were being made to look totally incompetent. It kind of offended me watching it, because even though Australia has no F15s, I just assocaite them with protection, given that the US is our main ally in this regard. Anyway, so I admited to myself that I was wrong, but thought it was such a great opportunity to poke fun, that I couldnt let it slip by...

@jpm1: I use Sony Vegas Platinum Grizzly, uploading right now, will post when done (was actually thinking earlier that I should set this up for you cave :) )

Wish: AI with proper fuel management. All to often playing in the campaign, I see a wingman radio bingo fuel and RTB. Only to see him fly all the way back with droptanks still on, and then crash at the runway threshhold.
-
Ok whatever you say. Even if it was true, which I dont believe it is, it would be incredibly rude of you to point it out.

Oh, and the reason I did not translate, is because I have posted in this section before, and I used to translate, but I have been requested to leave English instead.
