  1. Yes, they would require an update to TouchPal to support client/server mode for keyboard controls. If the action doesn't have a physical switch or button in the cockpit it will probably never be support via LUA from ED.
  2. Nope.
  3. I just use a good text editor and edit by hand (bbedit and notepad++ are the two I used). It is easier when you have a good layout already drawn up. Let me know if you have any questions about the syntax. I never did fully document it on the wiki.
  4. 1) No. Shkval and ABRIS can not be made remote at this time. In my testing you take a much more significant FPS hit trying to do so than running multiple monitors on the main PC. In addition while you can extract those images there are visual artifacts. The Ekran works fine remote. 2) No. Touchpal does not currently render the Shkval and ABRIS Black Shark does and Touchpal just overlays the rest of the screen around that. See answer to #1 in regards to making Shkval and ABRIS remote. 3) I think this can be made to happen but it will be a little inefficient as it will require modifications to the Export.lua to send the data to both instances of BSVP. I have not attempted to run two instances of BSVP on the same computer. I am beginning design work on a KA-50 pit to go alongside my current touch screen pit. I'll be doing some testing of some monitor configuration options soon. I intend on using software to render the gauges as well.
  5. If force feedback is a key feature you're looking for then there is only one HOTAS which is the G940. The new Saitek X-65F is force sensing not force feedback. I love my G940 but I go back and forth on whether the force feedback is great or not. To be honset it still takes just as much "training" to understand how to use the trimmer and auto pilots correctly in Black Shark. You also still have to deal with proper centering of the pedals still during trimming. You do "pay" for the force feedback with some inconsistency in the pressure on the stick. There is a noticeable play area where there is very little back pressure on stick movement. Note that this is not a dead zone as the G940 responds with axis change in game with the slightest of movements. Also when the force is higher you get a slighty "notchy" feel. These issues may be solved with updated drivers and games, but that is yet to be seen.
  6. I assume both machines are on the same lan behind a router to the internet. If this is not the case let me know and don't do the following. 1) For testing purposes make sure both the TouchPal machine and the Black Shark machine have firewalls turned off. If both machines are 192.168.0.* address do not configure anything on your router because no packets will go through the router at all. 2) Make sure you can ping between machines. On your Black Shark machine do Start -> Run -> cmd.exe. Then type "ping 192.168.0.7". Do you get errors?
  7. You need to have the host in quotes so "192.168.0.7" would be correct.
  8. There is a partially working way to extract the image for ABRIS and shkval. I have successfully displayed the ABRIS and shkval on screen via TouchPal with Black Shark full screen on primary monitor. Unfortunately the shared memory texture was a bigger performance hit than using windowed mode and multi-monitor. In addition there are visual artifacts, but I think some of those can be fixed outside Black Shark code. Another thing to keep in mind is that even though you may display ABRIS and shkval on remote computers the rendering of the image is still done with your primary PC. The only way to remove that is a FSX like ability to have a second PC running the DCS engine rendering a different view. Even then the main PC will still render the ABRIS and shkval as those textures are used in the virtual cockpit. The biggest boost you could get is allowing each instance of Black Shark to run fullscreen mode.
  9. Ack! I just noticed another bug with Virtual Panel. It messes with my joystick configuration! When Virtual Panel is running my G940 turns on the center spring forces. This prevents the Black Shark trimmer from working. As soon as I close Virtual Panel the joystick snaps to the trimmed position.
  10. Nice job! I posted an Export.lua file which will drive both BSVP 1.1 and TouchPal in the TouchPal thread for those interested. A few requests: 1) Can you give an options to run with out title bar so we can run it "full screen" on a secondary monitor? 2) You should probably only trap keys when BSVP has focus. While I'm typing in chat or IM I keep toggling settings in BSVP especially since you've used very common keystrokes (Shift+E, Shift M and Z).
  11. Yea. The issues your describing do sound like video driver issues. What kind of video card are you running and which version of the drivers?
  12. Attached is an Export.lua which allows you to run BSVP v1.1 and Touchpal at the same time. Also as a quick note to those who want network support in touchpal it is already 90% functional running remote. The only functions that won't work are those that require keyboard emulation. What really binds it to local is the lack of functioning texture export in Black Shark for the ABRIS and shkval. Here is the list of buttons which use the keyboard emulation: Weapon Select Outer/Inner/All/AA All of the View Buttons in the lower left ABRIS Cursor and Brightness Hover Hold Route Mode Desc Mode If you can do with out those TouchPal will work fine runnign on a remote machine. Just edit the Export.lua to point to the right IP address. ExportTP+BSVP.zip
  13. I plan on creating a merged Export.lua for TouchPal and Virtual Panel this weekend. I've taken a look at the Virtual Panel Export.lua and it will be a trivial exercise. As I said a few pages back I do have some really cool stuff in the works, it's just not at a stage where I can talk about it yet. As soon as I can I'll let you guys in on it.
  14. You should NOT have to rename that file. The only reason ggg87 had to was because he is running Black Shark 1.0, this profile requires 1.0.1 in on order to work properly. That black square keeps the abris screen looking blank while the power to the abris in game is off. Once the abris is turned on in game it removes the black square and it is see through. If the black square is not turning off you likely have another problem with the Export.lua file setup.
  15. @ggg87 There should not be anything you need to do aside from what is already listed in this thread. The Abris is not see through until it has power. Verify that when you press the test lights buttton that the touchpal indicators are lighting up. If not there is a problem with your Export.lua setup or firewall.
  16. Very nice. How are you planning on wiring this one up?
  17. That sensor is the dead mans switch. It detects whether you are holding the stick or not. If you do not cover this sensor when you let go of the stick it will automatically recenter and turn off force feedback effects. This is exactly what you don't want to have happen if you use the force feedback trim in Black Shark. The down side to keeping it covered is if you don't have the joystick mounted it could buck around while unattended if some force feedback application is running.
  18. Are you running XP? I installed XP tonight to do testing.
  19. I'll try that tonight but I have recallibrated via the g940 properties page already. Also I would expect wierdness in the axis tune screen if that was the problem.
  20. I'm running into a problem where the collective is "sticking" in game. When I pull back on my throttle slowly the collective won't start moving until I get about half way... then it will snap up quickly. I also have the problem where I'm lowering it and only lower about half way, but the game will slide the collective all the way down after a second or so of sitting at half with out me moving the throttle. I had this with my old X45 and thought it was because that throttle was spiking which I could see in control panels as well. But I'm now getting it on my brand new G940 and this one is not spiking. If I go into Axis tune in the controls configuration I can see smooth travel through out the full range. I did go in and remove all axis mappings from game mode last night to verify I was pulling the correct config (I run simulation mode). Once in game the collective still worked with the throttle but I didn't have enough time to fully test after that. Anybody else encounter this or have a solution?
  21. Ahh.... Well that's probably part of the problem. The functions TouchPal uses in Export.lua where introduced into 1.0.1. If you want to run touchpal you have to be running the patch.
  22. Not sure what to tell you, this is really a Black Shark multi-monitor issues at this point. You could try setting your displays both to 1024x768 and using the Shkval + Camera multimonitor profile with out touchpal. Just to see if it's one of the settings we've tweaked. Also try disabling any mods you may have installed to see if they are conflicting with the multi-monitor setup.
  23. Hmm. Forgot about that video. I'll have to comb throgh again as I don't know where they are pullng the info to render the targetting reticles, and there are not any documentation about shared memory for the HUD.
  24. Your almost there. Create a new file and save it as C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Config\MonitorSetup\Touchpal.lua paste the following into it Description = 'Camera on the left, TouchPal+ABRIS+Shkval on the right' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.6; } } ABRIS = { x = 2249; --Horizontal res of main monitor + 329 y = 224; width = 366; height = 448; } Shkval = { x = 2362; --Horizontal res of main monitor + 442 y = 12; width = 312; height = 172; }Now in your options.lua change these two lines to read like this: ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "Touchpal" ["width"] = 2944 Here is my Graphics sections from options.lua for reference: ["graphics"] = { ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "Touchpal", ["color"] = "32", ["heatBlr"] = 0, ["scenes"] = "medium", ["water"] = 2, ["fullScreen"] = false, ["visibRange"] = "Medium", ["aspect"] = 1.6, ["textures"] = 1, ["shadows"] = 2, ["display_mode"] = { ["avi"] = { ["bpp"] = 32, ["resolution"] = "640x480", ["full_screen"] = false, ["aspect"] = 1.333333333, ["height"] = 480, ["width"] = 640, }, -- end of ["avi"] }, -- end of ["display_mode"] ["effects"] = 3, ["lights"] = 2, ["haze"] = 1, ["terrPrld"] = "20", ["height"] = 1200, ["resolution"] = "1920x1200", ["civTraffic"] = 0, ["width"] = 2944, }, -- end of ["graphics"]
  25. The most common reason to get errors on startup of TouchPal is the Blackshark profile not being extracted to the right place. Please read a few messages up and verify that. If that doesn't work please PM me a screen shot of the error. I really need to go back and put in decent dialog box for that case.
