  1. Interestingly enough, I did not experience this particular problem in the Hornet, however, in the Tomcat the AoA-Indexer and the push buttons on the ACM panel are completely unreadable. One can also tell that a particular light on the Tomcat's annunciator panel is illuminated, but only when zooming in a bit.
  2. True, but then you would have to watch the whole track until you reach the point where you want to take control. I rather be able to save a situation and start right from there.
  3. Would it be possible to add a "snap shot" functionality to the sim, which allows to save a situation during a flight and export it as .miz-file? In "real" aircraft sims such a functionality also exists to allow for better reviewing of a situation and to make efficient use of available sim time. Right now I'm trying to learn to land properly aboard the Super Carrier, however, for reasons which may be totally related to my flying skills I receive a lot of wave-offs, some of them at the last second. It would be great if I could take a "snap shot" of the whole situation, e.g. some time on downwind, so that I could just jump back to this point in time instead of having to fly the whole wave-off pattern time and again. Another example would be for a variety of weapon delivery practices or air to air combat situations. Especially for the latter, I was often watching the track afterwards and more than once thought that at a given situation I could have tried something different. Again, it would be nice to be able to just jump back to that point and try a different tactic. Especially for those of us who aren't entirely familiar with all the possibilities of the mission editor a snap-shot function would allow to create within an existing mission a desired training situation and then make use of it onwards.   6. Own Wave-Off Call I would love to see a radio option/ command to let the LSO know that I'm discontinueing the approach. Right now, when I decide to wave-off myself I won't receive any grades/ comments, or the game treats it as a commanded wave-off.
  7. I think the gray option is that you can toggle between green and gray image rendering on the DDIs. If I remember correctly, Redkite mentioned something to this effect in his Litening Pod tutorial.
  8. Hello Mark, Another reason for the pitch excursions may be that by lowering flaps will generate various pitching moments. If you set flaps to half, the wing normally experiences a large increase in lift and a comparatively small increase in drag. Even so the center of pressure moves forward when lowering the flaps, this increase in lift creates a pitch down moment. When Lowering the flaps to full, lift is still somewhat increased, but now the drag increase is much larger. Apparently, these relationships hold true for most wings. Now, in the Hornet, the flaps/ flaperons seem to make up a sizeable portion of the wing, so I guess that when they're lowered fully that the drag increase is tremendous. So, the decrease in speed isn't much of a surprise. Since the flaps seem to be quite low on the airframe, I also suspect that the added drag is effective below the aircrafts center of gravity, thus adding another nose-down moment. However, there's another element to consider, which isn't rooted in aerodynamics, but in the flight model of the DCS F-18: It is said that in the low-speed range, the drag experienced by the Hornet is much, much larger than it is in the real thing, thus requiring the large throttle movements- which in turn can create their own pitching moments again. If the thrustline is, e.g. over the center of gravity, an increase in power will result in a nose-down moment. As far as I can see, the developers are also looking into the flight model, so perhaps we see an improvement soon. In any case, I feel for you, the Hornet's behaviour in the slow flight regime used to (and actually still does) bewilder me as well. At times I have to go to almost full military power, just short of the afterburner, to control the descent rate when turning from downwind to base. This will happen even at low weights and still makes me at times scratching my head. I hope that these explanations help you. Happy virtual landings, Cepheus

Game Fails Integrity Check Good Evening All, I just applied the hot fix and my DCS runs smoothly again- Thanks a lot to the team for getting me back into the air again :thumbup: However, when I went to the Multiplayer Screen, the icon for a failed integrity check was active. I just wondered if that is still related to the original problem preventing DCS from authorizing the user or may it have to do with the hot fix? I run a clean install without any mods (not counting SRS). Best regards, Cepheus E D I T: After updating SRS and starting DCS again the integrity check was now passed, just in case somebody else encounters the issue
  10. Crashes Upon Logging in Good evening, After the last update, I experience the same problem(s), when trying to start normally, the game crashes during the log-in process. When staying offline, DCS starts without problems. Tried to repair the game and cleared the fxo and metashader folders, to no avail. The last crash-log is attached.
