  1. This looks so good. Will it work in VR? Is there a key command to bring up the DCC overlay in VR? Thanks so much.
  2. Oh, I got it wrong. After creating a new custom KB for Hornet, the new groups are saved in the Kneeboard Builder/Kneeboard Groups/FA-18C folder. I made a group for the F-18 and it appears like your Procedures folder. Still screws up the DCS cockpit. Oh well, sorry for taking up your time on this. And thanks again for your effort.
  3. This is interesting and may be a clue. The utility apparently saves the custom KB in the same location that I save my custom KBs. Since there is only one name that can be used for the KB folder, I wonder if there is a conflict? I will try a few things...
  4. Thanks for making the video to address my problem -- so considerate of you. This is the exact method I used to add custom pages in the F-18C. But when I opened the .miz file in DCS my cockpit was mostly invisible, like a cockpit skeleton! The F-18 looked like that for every mission until I repaired it in DCS Updater Utility. Just curious, have you used Kneeboard Builder in the F-18 in openbeta? Again, thanks very much for helping me.
  5. Sadly, the problem still exists! And, the F-18 is so complex that I really need those custom HOTAS pages. I presently can only get a single empty kneeboard page. If I use Kneeboard Builder it screws up the cockpit completely. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm itching to fly her too.
  6. Don't know why this isn't working for me. I've tried to add the custom pages to a new folder KNEEBOARD/IMAGES in both 7zip and Winrar and the pages don't appear in the missions. Thanks for the help though.
  7. Just started using Kneeboard Builder (ver. 1.9.0.0) for openbeta DCS to get my custom pages into missions, and would love some advice from those more experienced. So far, I created several groups of kneeboard pages for my F-18. I clicked the button to create custom kneeboard for F-18C and a window popped up saying it was done. The manual says I am to create a profile and shows an options menu selection as "keyboard settings" and discusses how to create a profile from that point. My version of the software only has a "keyboard profiles" option which is greyed out. I don't know how to proceed to make the profile and load it into a .miz file (also greyed out). Thanks very much. Edit: Figured out there is a taskbar icon for profiles, and I noticed the .miz button available only if I don't click the build kneeboard button. Still, even when I clicked on .miz button, got the confirmation the kneeboard was applied to the .miz file, when I got into the mission, no custom kneeboard. Not quite getting this application... Yet another edit: got the F-18 custom pages loaded into the .miz file successfully with KneeboardBuilder. But when I open the mission in DCS my F-18 cockpit view is a mess -- half of it missing. Arggh
  8. Wow, I will try have to try Mission Builder again -- seems like the way. Thanks again.
  9. Great info. You posted the exact page I saw when unzipping a .miz mission file in Winrar. I created the KNEEBOARD/IMAGES folder and dragged the kneeboard images into that folder (I noticed your files are .png format and mine were .jpg format so that may be an issue I will fix). But, let me ask you how you re-converted this to a .miz file again? Thanks very much and Merry Christmas.
  10. I tried Kneeboard Builder but it was too cumbersome for me. Instead I created jpg files and put them into my user/dcs/kneeboard folder. I am referring not to mission-specific files but some general files for my HOTAS maps. I need them for every mission just to remember all the settings! I was told I could use file compression software to unzip the .miz files and insert a new kneeboard folder. This was successful, but I can't seem to convert the decompressed file back into a .miz file with the kneeboard visible in DCS. Does this make sense?
  11. How do I use my custom kneeboards in missions? Thanks.
  12. No, I've got that. I have haDd issues where I have to reload settings for a particular module from a saved settings file. What I am unclear about is whether the pull-down "save profile as" saves all device settings or just the settings in the device that is pulled-down. Also, whether the upper right button saves all settings? What I currently have is a saved setting file for each device and that may be unnecessary...
  13. My question relates to saving DCS HOTAS binding profiles on the Options/Controls page. There are two ways to save these profiles (.lua files): 1) you can use the pull-down menu from each USB controller recognized and go to the "save profile as" choice, or 2) you can use the "save profile as" button on the upper far right of the page. It is not clear to me how exactly to save binding settings? If I save to any one device with the pull-down option, then are all other device settings also saved or must I have separate .lua files for each device? And what about the button on the upper right -- is it a global save for all devices? Hoping someone knows the answer? Thanks.
  14. These are very enlightening replies and not present in any documentation I have seen. I use a VKB GNXT stick, WinWing Orion throttle, and VKB T-rudder. So, I have now done as you described -- cleared and setup bindings for each device and saved them independently; I now have 3 saved .lua files. I loaded all three for gameplay, which worked, clicked OK, then I closed and opened DCS where the settings remained. I think the problem is solved and thanks very much.
  15. I use OK every time. Don't understand it... I have heard the recommendation to save the profile setting for each peripheral, so I did so. As I load each, does it affect the other peripheral settings or does each load independently?
  16. Hello all, I am going through a very frustrating game of whack-a-mole with my HOTAS settings in DCS. I (like you) go through setting up HOTAS bindings for each module and saving them to a .lua file. The problem is that when I come back to the module later the bindings have changed - some are duplicated across several devices, others have disappeared completely. Then I go through the process of resetting the binding, saving again, and the same thing happens the next time I run the module. This is absolutely crazy-making; I spend more time fiddling with the bindings than flying the actual planes and it greatly reduces the fun in the game. It has been happening since I first started using DCS. So, has anyone else experienced this and have you solved the problem? How should I save my programmed bindings? Should I save each controller column separately? There is a pull-down menu for each USB controller with a "save profile" option. But there is also a general "save profile" button on the top of the list of devices. Should I create a saved profile (.lua file) for each individual controller, and load each one from the pull-down when I load profiles, or use the general button? Will using individual profile loads/saves for each device assign only that device or does each individually saved profile affect all of them? I can't seem to find a solution to this problem, and I have tried various ideas all without success. Thanks very much for your responses.
  17. Disabling the Hot Plug function (whatever that is!) did the trick. Thanks so much for the advice.
  18. Hello all. I have stopped using TrackIR in favor of VR. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to delete it from the controls column. While in-game I repeatedly get an alert that TrackIR is unplugged which causes major stalls in the game. I have uninstalled the app, deleted all TrackIR folders in my users/saved games folders, and deleted the TrackIR folder in program files. I have disabled the TrackIR column in controls and tried rescanning devices in controls. But the problem still occurs repeatedly in-game. Any ideas? Thanks.
  19. Using Oculus Link with Quest 2 (latest updates). Windows 10 system with plenty of processing power. DCS beta version 2.7. DCS Updater/Launcher Utility version 1.1.0.1040. DCS loads fine in VR mode and runs great, but the external applications are not loading (SRS, VoiceAttack). Any input on this problem? Thanks very much.
  20. You mentioned that 3D NS 430 will work in VR. Which aircraft use that 3D NS 430 system in VR? Thanks.
  21. I just started using the F16 module. So here it is in 2021, and the MFD brightness and readability in the F16 module with VR is still unintelligible. Very frustrating. Any workarounds or other suggestions? Thanks.
  22. Hello: I am having a problem with controller key bindings in DCS controls window. I make binding assignments to one of my devices, say the flightstick, and everything looks good. But when I reopen the profile, the same settings on the flightstick extend across all other devices, like throttle and keypad (which I never input). I clear those duplicative settings, and they will reappear whenever I open the profile next. Any suggestions? Thanks.
