@StevanJ do you use standalone version of DCS? If you are, can you please post your sha256 hashing values of DCS.exe and WorldGeneral.dll
-
Oh my oh my what is going on with those bits there I understand your frustration, it seems that somebody with access to more debugging tools must try to figure it out using data we all gathered so far I am just waiting for someone with standalone version to confirm that those are correct hashes honestly at this point that would be only thing that comes to my mind
-
Hm it's maybe due to standalone vs steam difference files are different Can someone with standalone check their sha256 values of dcs.exe and worldgeneral.dll EDIT: virustotal is also using sha256 and displays it so you can quick check files there
-
Yep in my case it wasn't needed because there were no spaces haha sry for that Anyways my hashes are completly different but I am using stable and for some reason openbeta won't download over steam right now
-
It is hashing algorithm in this case we are trying to use it as file integrity checker manually, it will always have same value if bits are correct when executed then we can cross check every offending file to be sure they are unaltered and saved correctly to the drive
-
Can you run this command in power shell, and paste table you get, just change my example path to your dcs world install folder Get-FileHash F:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\DCS.exe -Algorithm SHA256 | Format-List EDIT: it would be nice to post every sha256 value of offending dlls also
-
It is possible to see which process is using some dll but there are some limitations. You can try to check if something is using WorldGeneral.dll but I highly doubt it, it's more of a situation where something else doesn't give you permission to initialize it in the first place http://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer View -> Lower Pane View -> DLLs Now when you click on specific exe you will see used dlls

Be sure to install latest one available using media creation tool so it is not too much out of date https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

Considering prices I would buy cheap 240+GB SSD with SLC cache if I had to do Windows reinstall for testing purposes, simply because it's not worth my time to install everything that I will use later and setting stuff up. But if you can clean D partition that will do. I have few ideas on that clean install if it doesn't work straight away
-
Can you open regedit (Registry Editor) and tell me what value is assigned to LoadAppInit_DLLs it should be 0 by default Here is location where you can find it Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
-
Does it happen without any modules loaded also? I am asking because if it does, you can try to download steam version of the game and if it doesn't happen with steam version maybe standalone has some issues
-
It is but that is third video in the second video there is no MsMpEng.exe and it still didn't work
-
-
Seems like next patch is fixing everything lets hope it doesn't break too much stuff that was working either
-
I know there was antivirus talk before but since at the time of the error and after MsMpEng.exe is having some usage and that is core component of windows defender, can you turn off every windows defender option including realtime scan, ransomware protection (folder protection) etc and try to reproduce? It could be some weird heuristic blocking of some components that doesn't always occur, possibly DRM issues, I've seen that before. And to make matters worse game install folder is on system partition. Are you running DCS with administrative privileges?
-
Power supply issues would manifest in other more demanding titles also so I highly doubt it. Usually CTDs are rare when power delivery isn't sufficient, because with any solid power supply you would first lose PWR OK signal and system would instantly reboot when restored, otherwise system would probably bluescreen, freeze or simply shutoff.
-
That stands true but under assumption that everything hardware wise is fine. This is most likely the culprit but I thought he did fresh Windows install with only display drivers and it still failed? EDIT: Also is there any specific reason why you have hyper threading disabled? @SliderCDN

These are desperate attempts I know... I've read you did stability testing and that is good start but I passed hours of linpack and prime95 just to crash in the most light loads imaginable due to voltage transients because I like running stuff with power savings haha Hardware is relatively new so that probably won't be the case of incompatibility... DEP was already suggested... I see you are running four memory sticks, I would first do memtest86 and even if it passes, f*** it, try with two sticks in dual channel, if that doesn't work try with two sticks in single channel (2 next to each other probably, MB manual knows better). Are they unbreakable because my last GPU wouldn't agree? Chance is very slim because everything else works fine but...

What CPU, GPU and Motherboard do you have and also what's your BIOS version? Usually random crashes like this are caused by some kind of instability that leads to corruption of data, not necessarly with the overclock and software but on a hardware level, it's possible that some microcode update exists for the CPU. It is rare but possible for every other program to work fine in those cases. First I would try disconnecting every usb device that is not essential. Do you have anything shared over network on the same drive where your game install is? I've seen couple of "random" access violation type errors with networked PC's when other accesses the drive at the runtime. If that is not the case... Since this is long lasting problem, I would disable every overclock (save your settings to a profile if your motherboard supports it or write your settings down and do CMOS reset) even memory XMP if it's on and then run memtest86 for few passes just to be sure there is no random bitflipping or whole sectors of memory gone bad. After that complete reinstall of Windows with just display, audio and chipset driver installed. Game must start correctly, otherwise we have some driver issue, very rare case of hardware incompatibility or something is failing. Of course these problems that you can't reproduce everytime are hardest to diagnose and require significant amount of time and patience to reslove. For example I had bizzare issue on my old PC where bad CMOS battery caused BIOS to corrupt in 4-5 months of use, requiring BIOS flash or otherwise PC wouldn't boot 1 out of 5 times and it would get progressivly worse, debug error code would be different at times and in final days before it required flashback totally random bluescreens. I tried clearing CMOS, removing battery, BIOS flashbacks but none of it fixed the issue permanently and everyone would think it's borked motherboard by that point but after battery replacement and BIOS flashback it is still working to this day without issues and with a pretty hefty overclock... if you ask me to explain why that worked I don't have an explanation that I am . At one point I was even considering cosmic radiation for the cause of my issues due to randomness of it

Yeah I ****ed that up, thought it was correct word for it. My bad. There is one thing I am not sure of, does the missile depend on received transmission from SPJ or is primarily using data link for guidence? When I think about it data link seems more plausible, at least in the beginning of the flight, since launching aircraft has much more processing power to counter use of ECM especially since multiple techniques will be used to hide exact position of jamming aircraft. I was in delusion that missile would follow transmitting signal el/az angle and just try to hit, but IRL there are ways to make that very complicated and not useful.
-
Yes and when you think about it... it is correct behaviour, your radar is trying to burn through and has direction of the source so it must intercept at X distance hence enemy aircraft that is using ECM will get lock warning from RWR. Only one thing that is very debatable, should jamming aircraft RWR detect missile launch? From my understanding in HOJ missile is "beam riding" jamming signal, your radar won't change any mode nor will any data link info be transmitted to the missile while in flight, I might be wrong but if that is true there is no way for RWR to detect it.

@darkman222 Go to Settings -> Gameplay and change "Avionics Language" from Native to English

haha yeah, should've written it like this: "perfect circle" it is close enough at 750km/h - 650km/h to the naked eye atleast heck even that video I posted while flying like a maniac when you switch to ground camera it looks like a circle and mimics the video OP posted perfectly hehe, but tacview well khmmm Yup, damn physics hehe, it also shows in the video I posted, since there I entered with around 800km/h and ended up at 480km/h, plane started above runway and ended up on the right side of it by like 50m
-
Looks to me more like 14 - 14.5 seconds and that is possible to accomplish in the sim, anyway even if it was 13 both flight models seem very realistic at subsonic flight. Tho there are debates with IRL videos and even I have my own doubts about transonic and supersonic performance of Su-27, seems a bit underwhelming.

Fuel amount is probably the reason why he did the turn at the very end of display to maximize performance, he probably had even less than 1000kg at that point
