  1. You could see the actual models in Flanker 2, I'm sure ED will bring back that functionality :) It will be a whole new editor after all.

I agree that single thing would improve mission creation by leaps and bounds. But I do think it will be a fairly cemprehensive overhaul it is getting, the idea of events and triggers really opens up a new ballgame for it.

  2. Wags, I congratulate you to your excellent taste :) Since you have already done one of those, stick with the others ;)

No seriously, I would absolutley love to see a Tomcat sim one day. The Tomcat is one of the few air-air fighter that realy appeal to me. The Tomcat is just cult. And for me it was not Top Gun, it was The Final Countdown. I remember watching that as a kid all over again and drooling over the incredible flying scenes. Since then I love the late 70s/early 80s USN carrier groups with all those nice A-6, A-7 and F-14 in those great high-vis colour schemes. That film realy marked me.

Hey and the F-14A is alright. For me it represents a much more interesting time of air-air combat. A great mix of BVR work vs. bombers and lots of close in dogfighting with (rear aspect)-heaters and guns. And it still has a nice classic airplane cockpit, not some of that si-fi stuff ;) The F-14D with all that computer combat would only be half as fun. Plus the F-14A has a very impressive combat record, so that is even better.

Just saw "The final countdown" again here the other day (got a DVD copy of it) I really like the the dogfight scene with those visimod A6M2's.

I also agree that the F-14 would be a blast to fly, I'd even enjoy the -A trying not to stall the engines would pose a challenge after being used to zooming around as befitting in the fast jets in Lock On.

Still I won't start nagging about further products, I'll more likely enjoy the ride from here and purchase any modules I'd like to try (propably them all but I like to sound picky!)

I think the future for this niche market got a little brighter with the business model outlined by TFC/ED

  3. Right now we are focusing on the air component, but perhaps DCS will include ground elements in its future. Right now that is just too far ahead to be more specific than that. Hope you understand.

Sure do Matt, one can always hope but noone will be blamed if it doesn't happens (I could always try to win a few mill $ and "Donate" them)

  4. More like 2011-12.

Maybe but untill then we'll have DCS: Black Shark (I hope) and for some fast paced fun I don't mind starting Lomac and just enjoy that...

I think I'm too patient to start panicking about when something will be released, but that might be a sideeffect of marriage.

  5. I'm happy with the A-10A and I'm sure I'll have plenty of things to do untill we get to that point, I will be taking it easy and just enjoy Black Shark, there will be a long time to get used to that after it is published before any other modules will hit the shelves.

  6. the first question with the A-10A: Get your wingman to attack using the "attack ground targets" command, IIRC the "Attack my target" is only useful for letting him engage aerial targets.

Second question, doesn't sound like anything I have ever experienced, it could depend on his loadout on what range he'd engage but I have never had any issues with using "attack my target" command
