Is it neccesary to set resolution in graphic.cfg?
hollywoody replied to hollywoody's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
so if I can see and choose the resolution (1920x1080) within the games options would I still need to make the changes in options.lua? windows 7 x64 -
Hi, Does anyone have a list/definition of which each volume slider tab represents (in options) ofcourse some are self explanitory but others can be confusing? like which tab will lower just the in cockpit cannon volume, or if I want to hear the whapping of the blades more?.. also what does the "GUI" slider do? thanks

Hey guys, I'm getting 60 fps in game play on high settings and I know I can get higher but it seems like the game is limiting the fps to 60. what can I do to switch this limit off within game? also within graphics.cfg i have graphics set to =0 . Thanks

Hi, I need to ask you guys your opinions before I take the plunge in a new monitor. I would like to keep it under $500 otd 1. LED or LCD pros and cons? 1. can you really see the differance between a 2ms and 5ms rated monitor ? 2. Other than reflection glare of a glossy screen.. which is most preferred within the sim world glossy or non glare? I do notice that the glossy screens sure seems to bring out the clarity and vibrance on pictures but not sure if it will make the cockpit and gages and game look strange? my last monitor had anti glare screen. Thanks guys!

BS and Monitor Aspect Ratio question
hollywoody replied to hollywoody's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Oh, is an LED monitor better than LCD? thanks -
Hey guys, I'm ready to upgrade to a new monitor and I was wondering about how BS will look on a widescreen monitor like a LCD 24" 16.9 aspect ratio? I'm more concern if the game fills in the complete screen or if there are black bars or if some of graphics are cutoff a bit. the res is 1920 x 1080 / 60Hz If you can give any pros and cons would be greatly apriciated since I want to buy it NOW. :D Thanks! hollywoody replied to hollywoody's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Where are the VAC profiles located? Hi, anyone know where the VAC profiles I've created located at in Black Shark? I need to transfer them and I can't seem to find them, Thanks in advance! -

I know that when I enable full screen I get the most FPS, as of now I'm avg. 35fps on low settings with textures set to med. and 30fps on Medium settings and even lower if I disable full screen. I might sacrifice the tearing to keep the higher fps. Thanks
-
Hi guys, I've read up on most of threads relating to tearing but I cant seem to get rid of it...majority pointed me to forcing vsync to on in my Nvidia panel to stop it but this did not work. I've tried changing the maxfps in graphic.cfg file from 0,30,45,and 60fps and tearing is still there. I double check my monitor and it is refresh rate is 60hz. Is there anything else I could try or change to get rid of this tearing? Most of the tearing that I can easily see is tearing on the side cockpit struts when panning from left to right. I do remember once about a week ago I did make some changes within my Nvidia panel and got the tearing to stop for just a brief moment but I cant recall what the changes were or if it had anything to do with stopping the tearing. Thanks in advance. E4500 dual core 2.2ghz 3g ram GTS260 vista os 32bit

Hey Fox, I'm new at using it but I do know that it does have a option with the trial version for push to talk feature.

Hi, I'm still in training and learning to taxi and fly which I'm getting the hang of it...but when observing my FPS (with all settings set to LOW and cockpit at 512) my FPS is avg. 25-30FPS and thats looking straigh ahead with cockpit in view. I notice if I turn my view to the left or right and looking out windoa with less cockpit in view or at higher altitude the FPS increases sometimes to 40-60 FPS. the 25-30 FPS average seems to be smooth enough (no jittering graphics) during the training exercises.. but my concern is that when I get into more detailed graphics during game play my FPS may drop and I may start getting that studdering effect. Is there anything I can tweak within my system to increase the FPS. btw can changing to a pci sound card help much? thanks for your input. I'm running Vista OS (using internal sound off board) 2.2 ghz duo core 3gb ram Nvidia GTS250 1g ram also running in background: Voice activated commands VAC TrackIR 5 saitek X52PRO

Open BS related apps.. and set priority/affinity
hollywoody replied to StrongHarm's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Is this easy to do? I'm running vista. -
manually setting the core affinity?
hollywoody replied to hollywoody's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks StrongHarm, i read your link about affinity and to tell you the truth this is way over my head to comprehend and attemp by myself without help... I'm running Vista with a dual core, 2.2 ghz 3mb mem, can these changes still help my case? I'm getting aprx. 25 FPS while hovering and taxing around base with a glitch here and there but at higher altitudes in open areas i've seen as high 50-60 fps. all this is on medium settings. note that I have not flown any missions or seen explosions or any performance draining graphics yet. Also will my performance drop when I use TRACKIR 5? -
HI, I can't seem to find this in the manual or by searching but as I'm practicing auto hover technics... at the point when I toggle the Auto Hover button, is there a Light or something on the HUD that tells you that the Auto Hover is engaged? also does auto hover disengage if an input on the cyclic is given. thanks
-
Thanks got it!
-
sorry...where is it in the cockpit? oh and thanks for the reply!

Hey guys, Where is the Auto Hover Button? Thanks

I saw this (below) in the FAQ area and my setup is a HP duo core cpu running 2.2ghz 3g ram, gtx250,Vista OS. My question is, will this method work for my setup for better game performance and HOW do i set the affinity for DCS? Thanks Q: Does DCS: Black Shark take advantage of multi-core processors A: DCS: Black Shark uses a modified version of The Fighter Collection Simulation Engine (TFCSE), which was not originally designed to take advantage of multi-core processor technologies. Nevertheless, such systems do generally provide better game performance as a result of their native capabilities. 11/20/08 EDIT: You can try manually setting the core affinity for DCS to all of the CPU cores, which may boost your game performance. To do this, Alt-Tab out of a running mission, set the CPU affinity for DCS and Alt-Tab back in. You will have to do this every time you run the sim
