I'm confused when you would use a zone using a Trigger zone vs a Late activation Helicopter. Below is the Trigger zone name that you would then put into the mission using ME Trigger Zones. PatrolZone = ZONE:New( "Patrol Zone" ) AICapZone = AI_CAP_ZONE:New( PatrolZone, 500, 1000, 500, 600 ) or you could use the late activation Helo method to create a zone. redborder = ZONE_POLYGON:New( "redborder", GROUP:FindByName( "redborder" ) ) A2ADispatcher:SetSquadronCap( "redcap", redborder, 200, 2000, 750, 800, 800, 1400 ) A2ADispatcher:SetSquadronCapInterval( "redcap", 4, 10, 20, 1 ) It seems like both serve the same function. Why have two different methods to setup a Zone?

I totally agree that DCS needs to work on realistic spotting and getting away from labels Couple months ago I read they were working on light glimmer, etc to increase spotting but it’s still very difficult and unrealistic. I don’t play WW2 despite having the planes because of this

For some reason DCS is not running the MOOSE script. When I run the Moose demo missions provided they work ...the script runs But when I make up my own missions they wouldn't work for some reason. After testing I found that for some reason DCS is not loading the MOOSE script even though the trigger is set properly. Not sure why not.

I figured it out. The emergency Inverter switch must be left off It's beside the Giro Switches. I wonder why one would switch it ON then?

I'm doing the manual startup but the optical sight won't light even though i have the Gun Sight Power On and the Pipper and Net switches on. Am I missing another switch? Thanks for the haelp

I'm a long time flight sim player since Su27 Flanker days and have been playing off and on for quite a while. Things seem to be getting more and more complicated with the way DCS is evolving. First of all there's the two different iterations.....2.0 and 1.5. I understand at some point things will be unified. But right now some modules work with 2.0 and not 1.5, some modules work with 1.5 but not 2.0. Some modules are in Beta. Some terrains are pre release. I'm realling having a hard time following along. This means when I went to come back to playing DCS after months hiatus it's quite time consuming to get playing again. Especially true if I have to remap my keys for my half a dozen modules. Now we have Steam modules that I take it can't be played with desktop launched DCS World...is this correct? I also have campaigns that were bought years ago on first release that don't show on my account anymore. Maybe they got lost along the way? Does the online profile for searching for modules only go back certain number of years? Is that why I can't find them? In Summary; Likes; the Launcher having all the modules in one place vs in the past having to launch each module with it's own exe. the Launcher installing the modules for you that you've bought the DCS web portal where you can look up past orders and find your serial numbers. Dislikes the need still for a 1.5 and 2.0 alpha. when can we get a unified Launcher? the need for 'early access' modules What exactly is early access? Hawk t.1a has been early access for years now having to redo my input mapping releasing DCS modules on Steam. so now I if I buy Steam modules I can't launch them from my desktop launcher? why not just buy on Steam and have the serial number allow access from the desktop launcher? I'd really want to get into the WW2 side of things as I have a couple of planes already bought. Pls DCS try to uncomplicate things for us casual gamers. Thank you.

I've been trying to get some help from Support for the last 2 weeks and it's been going nowhere. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been having a hard time. The response to the ticket is just plain unhelpful. The response seems to be as curt and useless as it can possibly be. Then the ticket auto closes. Can anyone recommend a different approach? Like a toll free number I can use? Thanks.

I found the fix. Go to DCS site; downloads; prev versions https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/previous_versions/ then download and install it will then allow the BS1 to BS2 update for DCS 2.0 this isn't needed for DCS 1.5 Wish it was clearer on the website.

If the gift key works it sure would be nice to be able to play BS2 on DCS2.0 I've got a tech support issure open on it but after 2 days haven't heard back other than a ...'have you tried running it DCS as Admin?' Thanks for your offer Snowtiger.

I think if BS1 won't be able to install into DCS World Eagle Dynamics should be obligated to get BS2 free of charge. After all we did pay for the full version of BS1 and then again for the upgrade.

Hi, what's the situation now with this Activation issue for BS2, Is it fixed. I've read this long thread and it seems everyone has the same issue but different fixes. What is the fix for this error. >>>Activation denied by server. Invalid hardware code. make sure the seiral number is valid for the product you are trying to activate, genereate a new hardware codeand try again.>>> Someone should put up a Sticky to save us the grief of reading thru the threads. and DCS should get rid of this lousy Protection system.
