  1. Hi, The sound that gives me goosebumps is the sound of a jet engine. Either a commercial jet or a fighter, the scream, the roar is just amazing. Just watched some vids on YT of a A-10 flyby. As soon as it passes you hear the raw thunder of air displacement combined with the scream of the outlet. And when it passes and flying ayway i hear this very nice...how do i describe it..."echo" that differs is volume (cant describe it better, im dutch). Have a look at this vid for example. 2:35 to 2:50 gives an example of what i mean. Why cant this sound be implemented in games? I also watched different YT vids of the DCS A-10. The sound of the flyby is way to lame...how comes? Is sound the underdog in game development?
  2. FA/18 Hornet...great multiroll jet.
  3. And even then i would say: use FS9 instead of FSX. Looking at the setup above, the frames will be very poor in FSX, regardless the system you use. Ik think that PMDG has done a great job with their 747-400 with full FMC and all electronic systems. But the main factor for FS9 & FSX are the add ons from Aerosoft (sceneries + great tools like good flightplanners ect), PMDG (planes). Without those add ons both are nude.
  4. Looks nice! And the movable keyboard table is surely a good option. I think its time for Skectup3D:helpsmilie:
  5. Yeah...know what you mean. As soon as work comes into play you trade time for money, which is okay otherwise we wouldn't be able to buy hardware:joystick: Well, i work and i have a girlfriend so there isnt that much time to play. But as soon as i can find gaming quality time i'll make the best of it! In the early days i used to fly long ranges with the PMDG 747 and FS9. But nowadays i only fly within Europe, which is much more fun! P.S, Almost = Zaandam?
  6. Well...i dont need much freetime to collect hardware:D. Playing with all the hardware thats a different story:joystick: But day 1 i like to race and day two i like to fly so i have to change all hardware... Nope, Wormerveer;)
  7. Hi, I have to much hardware... Logitech G110 as keyboard Logitech M705 as mouse Logitech G27 Steering wheel + pedals and shifter Logitech Extreme 3D pro Joystick Saitek Pro flight yoke Saitek Rudders Saitek 2 extra USB trottle quadrants I fly FS9 and the PMDG boeing 737 & 747 with the saitek config. I fly Lomac FC 1.12B with the Logitech extreme, 1 saitek USB throttle quadrant and the Saitek rudders I race GTR2 / Race on ect with my Logitech G27 I play a lot of other games with my mouse and keyboard. So tell me....HOW do i make a multi functional cockpit were i can switch from driving to FS9, from FS9 to lomac and from lomac to supreme commander in a fingersnap... Going nuts because im not finished yet!! there is also gonna be a hotas config (cant decide which one yet bit its comming soon for LOMAC and DCS)...
  8. That is looking sweet!! And as i have red all posts, i think that will be the fix against stickyness: al larger shaft so the force equels the entire lenght. Probably most players have their WR on their desk. While putting the WT between your legs (like the real deal), the lenght of your arm could funtion as the stick like in the picture. This should be part of the WT package.
  9. Well....with pong its gonna be about 30 years...lol. Excuses if i have red your post wrong. This afternoon i have mailed a aviation store in The Netherlands. They have a good customer support. On appointment they setup hardware for testing. So hopefully next week i will be able to test to a few hours. Then i will be back with my end result:joystick:
  10. Well...the manufactures needs to convince me to buy their hardware. Im gaming for 15 years and i have spent thousands(!) of euros onto games and hardware. As im getting older im getting more critical. So before i buy i read forums like these to read others opion about hardware. And this item is important for me. I dont want to be disappointed afterwards. I dont know about you but i think 350 euro's is a lot of money for a gaming device....whoops....simulator controller. Im just being critical towards a manufacturer and now i jump in a pool without water? Well...im just looking at the quality of water that is in the pool.
  11. Hi, Im sorry if i hurt some feelings concerning my earlier comments on the TM WT. Right now im using a Logitech 3D extreme... When looking at YT vids i must get a hold on to myself not to run to the strore to buy it! Im very sure that the WT is a very fine piece of hardware. No doubt about that. I also red abouy the throttle stifness of the X65F. Its not about the TM or the x65F. Its about the manufactures i dont understand. If i buy hardware i dont want to open it up and trying to find a good grease, no matter what kind of hardware. Comming up for a bomb run the minimal movements must be slick. I hate it when i have to correct my correction because im fighting against a force due to stickyness, if it is a steering wheel, joystick / pad, mouse i dont care. My logitech costs me about 35 euros. The TM will cost me about 10 times more so i expect a perfect product.
  12. Hello, I dont own a TM WT but i allmost bought myself for christmas. Now reading about the "stickyness" i know exactly what you mean. I have the saitek Proflight Yoke for FS9. Inside de shaft is made out of metal but the busses where the shaft moves within are made of Nylon. The yoke is great to fly with but when it comes to very tiny adjustments when coming in for landing on ILS at 6 miles off at 3000 ft with a 747-400 (PMDG) IFR its just not done, because the metal sticks to the nylon. Why..why no ball bearings? Also for the TM WT: Why no ball bearings? For such a device ate that price, make it good. Sorry TM, im gonna skipp the WT and im going to investigate the X65F. Thanks for the headsup on this!!
  13. Thanks for the answers. I'll buy and fly
  14. Hi, Im able to buy FC 2.0 at simware. Before i do ive got a few questions. - Is there really a difference in graphics: terrain mesh ect? - TrackIR, does i work? - Sound: i used a sound mod in 112B, are these a lot better now? Im running a I7-860 / 4 GB OCZ Platinum 1866 and a Asus 275GTX. This will be enough to run the game with max settings? Thanks in advance
  15. Thanks for the answer. I'll be patient:cry:
  16. Hi captains, I really thought that the release date of FC 2.0 at Simware would be tomorrow. Now i look and see the tenth of june:(. Is there a delay? Gr. Funk
  17. Mmmm...wrong bootsequence?
  18. My pc has got a new internal heart so i reinstalled lock on up to FC 1,12B. Fired it up to kick ass in the A-10, which i missed for two weeks (had problems with the oc temp of the I7860 on 4,2 ghz). Everything fine but...no working trackir...mmm... FS9 + Tir was okay, so...lock on problem? Tried and tried until i got angry. Deinstalled Lock On completly and started from scratch. Still nada..weird. I made tir profiles and did everything. Still nothing. Reinstalled everything again(!) and i was becomming desperate. Finally i went to this forum and suddenly i remembered. I had to delete the Trackir.cfg AAAAAAAHHHH. What can i say: S..t happens:D
  19. Well guys, Instead of buying a new hotas i spended my money on a new rig. Its a I7-860 oc'ed to 4,0 with 4 GB OCZ DDR 3 1866 Platinum LV mem. It allmost seems to me that i have a new LOMAC FC :D. Quoting Sade: Its a smooth operator!
  20. It would be nice if FC 2.0 would implement axis for the brakes. Left and right. Furthermore regarding the engine startup procedure it would be nice to first fire up the APU. Dont know how that works in real jetfighters. But i can imagne that the system check is done during the running of the APU.
  21. Ordered a MSI P55 GD65 / I7 860 with OCZ DDR3 1866 Platinum LV mem. Im just stuck with the 9800GTX+. Probably have a go for the 5850. There is nothing else left...would be nice if a third party would pop up.
  22. Well...i think ive got a sollution. First im gonna sit out for a good solid review on the X65. After that i make a decision. Probably im gonna buy a seperate throttle and use in combi with my Logitech. Spring its...its just..to far away. Im a bit of a "think about wanna buy" guy:D. Gaming for 15 years now and there is 1 thing ive learned buying new parts for my pc: never buy the newest stuff. Allthough sometimes its very hard not to jump in and go for that fancy looking, hardcore PC part. I can remember Falcon 3 on 4 1,44 MB disks on a 386 SX 25 MHz pc with the Microsoft Sidewinder Force. Where is this world going to...let it GOGOGO!
  23. Ive tried to lock on to the ground in a early stage. It makes it a bit easier. When two units ride next to eachother (DE and a sam) and a whole group of units (m13) just in front of them, the cursor keep locking the wrong unit. First i surely wanna take out the Sam. It happend to many times ive got so fixed on the MFD, trying to get a lock on the right unit that i came way to close and the consequences were harsh. I know you can jump from targets with a certain keypress but i dont think a real A-10 pilot can hit "Shift-Delete":D
  24. Thinking about upgrade. While i dont have a money tree in the backyard, ive got to choose. 1) I can buy a new MB. CPU and mem, still using my old GPU. OR 2) i can buy a new GPU and wait with the rest... Right now im flying with a Asus P5B, E6600 which is OC'ed to 3,40 GHZ, 2x2GB DDR2 800 Corsair XMS2 and the XFX9800 GTX+ Wanna go to a MSI P55 GD65, i5 750 or the I7 860, 2x2GB DDR3 1866 OCZ PlatinumLV. Offcourse im going to clock the CPU to 4,0 GHZ. As GPU i wanna stay with Nvidia. Dont start off with better ATI cards ect. i know. Just wanna stay with Nvidia. Thinking about the ZOTAC 275 GTX. As far as concerning LOMAC i think it would be better to upgrade the MB, CPU and mem. On the other hand, mid this year intel releases new I7 CPU's which are faster than the I7 860. But hey...that will always be the case. As soon as i buy Computerparts, its allready "old". What do you think? Go for option 1 or 2...
  25. Hi, Im going through the training of the A-10 Mavericks tut. I find it extremely difficult to aim the cursor at the target while in flight. at first i used my hat switch to move the cursor but it wasn't accurate enough. So ive changed it to my mouse (which is no very realistic). When in flight, i've got to descent 5 degrees to get the target in sight. But to aim the cursor i must let go of the stick (something i really dont want to do at that stage (sams)). What are your techniques to lock targets?
