chardly38 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 OK lets say that you have received you orders from JATC and your putting in the coordinates in to the cdu the your wing man starts telling you the a missile has been launched. I would like to send him to take care of the problem but the comminution menu is in JATC mode and you cant talk to your wing man. Is there away to get commands to him. In my experence until all JATC targets are gone I cant talk to my wing man. What would you do in this situation. next... In the Midnight Run mission i have put the L/L in to the cdu and named the target. When i slave the tgp to that point and it is in the air. How do you fix the problem either in the cockpit or in mission editor. Started learning A10c at the beginning of april. In my experence until all JATC targets are gone I cant talk to my wing man. What would you do in this situation. You can interrupt the communication with JTAC, and talk to someone else (or even another jtac), by selecting a different radio mic button. This puts you back to the first menu for all the radios. You can then choose the wingman and give him some orders. Do the same again to get back to the JTAC, and continue with your JTAC. MeerCaT Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 ...until all JATC targets are gone... Don't forget you can 'check-out' from the JTAC at anytime. You know, when you suddently realise you left the bath running before you left this morning and have to head back to base immediately to help mop up ...slave the tgp to that point and it is in the air... When entering waypoints (target points) manually into the CDU don't forget to populate the Elevation data field. If you're sure that isn't the problem then it could be the age old issue whereby the target point is situated in a different 'major grid cell' than the one that appears as default on the CDU waypoint entry page. There are many threads that can better explain this issue to you because I can't remember all the correct terminology off hand.

I will look for Elevation data field to see what i can find To add all of the way points are in the air in the mission. By that he means the 37T or 38T on the CDU Waypoint page. Very popular with east coast JTAC.. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

In the Midnight Run L/L coordinates are given for 3 bridges in the briefing. All way points are in the air. The more i thing about it i remember in a video that there is a fix in the pit to set way points right i just cant find it. FreeFall Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Dont understand 37t or 38t is. Explanation: 37T and 38T = grid zones. GG, KN etc = grid squares. First character of the grid square designator should be all you need to determine if it is 37T or 38T. Before H in the alphabet - it's 37T. After H - it's 38T. See the attached pics for further info. spn Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Go into Mission Editor and at the target waypoints, set the lowest height it will accept. Save mission and your waypoints should be at ground level
pewbeef Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Explanation: See the attached pics for further info. Those pics were originally posted here by other forum members. See also this thread (some elevation stuff explained): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72925 The problem is that 37T/38T only applies to MGRS coordinates, while the thread starter enters coordinates in L/L format. About the elevation, have you tried setting the altitude to 0 in the CDU? If my memory serves me right, the DTS will know what height ground level is and set that one instead...
