sgibson
Hi, I recently tried to actively use JTAC on CAS missions where you have let's say two friendly units waiting for the order to get moving. Now the issue is that JTAC assigns me targets way off they route of the friendly units Im suppose to support! Actually I dropped all my load (due to JTAC request) on tanks that were not in their path. The other thing is. When do you guys usually give those units in such type of CAS missions the GO to advance? Do you clear out everything and the give green light or do you do that when you reached the area and while they are moving you clear their way? Nate--IRL--
Generally you complete the mission in the brief - only then offer assistance to the JTAC if you have ordinance remaining. I tend to give them a GO when I've cleared everything I can. More chance of success that way. sgibson
But isn't the point of a CAS mission to get directions from JTAC?? In case of advancing units they should request assistance?!
Nate--IRL--
You have a point. But the Current JTAC isn't capable of calling for help, unless scripted. Also it is up to the mission designer whether the mission will have a JTAC assigned to assist you attacking the targets in your Briefing. This will not always be the case, CAS does not always have to use a JTAC. Nate--IRL--
Ordinance (boring) ORDNANCE! (not so boring) Hmm, I'd blame the spell checker but that wouldn't be honest, you learn something new everyday, Thanks.
