Highwayman-Ed Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I found at the weekend that if a mission has an object listed in the mission file that has been discontinued, the mission hangs when trying to load it in the ME or in game. An example is the Angels in the Dark mission created by Megagoth1702 that contained 2 of the 'house2armed' units. This would cause DCS World 1.2.0 to hang when you attempted to open the mission in the ME or when loading to fly it directly, removing these units from the mission file manually using a text editor fixed the problem. Grimes Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Its a known bug and it has already been fixed in the testers build. A temporary fix is to open the mission up in a 1.1.1.1 version of the sim and simply remove or change the building to a different unit. For the most part the armed buildings are affected by this bug, so it is best to just change the unit to a truck or something. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Highwayman-Ed Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Thanks for the update. Most of us stripped out the older versions of DCS from our hard drives when the Modules became available, but a quick hack around here and there with Notepad ++ is always fun, for some of us anyways :pilotfly: Intel i9-9900KF @5.2GHz MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR3200 RAM MSI RTX 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio 40" Panasonic TH-40DX600U @ 4K Pimax Vision 8K Plus / Oculus Rift CV1 / HTC Vive Gametrix JetSeat with SimShaker Windows 10 64 Bit Home Edition [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Highwayman-Ed Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 If anyone needs any missions fixed, post them here and I'll fix them. I have a script already generated to search for and substitute any offending units, and I'll repost them here until the patch is ready... Highwayman-Ed Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 For this version of DCS, you simply search thought the mission file for "house" and any units that you find, you can replace with whatever you see fit to do so, or remove them entirely. Removing them could have ramifications however if the unit is part of a trigger for example. shagrat Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Hmm, I found another way to easily identify the problematic object. Under <user>/saved games/DCS/log/ open ME.log There look for the line about an error with an empty object it will tell you what is the problem. In my case the "Outpost Roadblock" But thanks anyway!
