Hmm would be nice!

 

Alfa long time ago I've written to you about Su-25T.... I meant is it possible to add them arrestor hook and catapult to land and take off from Admiral Kuznetzov. Later I knew in LO 1 it wasn't possible, but maybe now it is? Whole game is based on LUA so.... is it worth to try?

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I very much doubt it Boberro.

 

It is now possible to assign cockpit environment/electronic systems(as a complete package) of any flyable entry to an AI one made flyable via a lua file called "CustomHuman"(IIRC). But the thing is that functionality of mechanical systems(such as arrestor hook) are coded for the "FM" and cannot be changed.

 

Whole game is based on LUA so.... is it worth to try?

 

Well mate changing things from XML to LUA format does not in itself provide more accessibility to change stuff. To be perfectly honest I am actually a little dissapointed with the "moddability" of FC2 so far - there are even less possibilities for "flyable mods" than in FC.

 

As the screenshots in my first post show, it is quite possible to make a perfectly working AI MiG-29K mod(I already did) - but of course it "screams" for a new 3D model and the question is whether its worth the bother to make it if you cannot make it flyable in even a semi-useful way.

 

In the case of the MiG-29K, the good news is that some kind soul in ED actually fixed player control of hook, IFR probe and wingfold mechanisms for the entry, but unfortunately at the same time assigned it with the same default Su-27 cockpit(no AOA indicator) as was the case with AI entries made flyable in FC....also you can no longer get a working targeting TV when assigning TV homing ASMs.

 

So I don't know...

Sorry mate I should have been more clear with my thread title.

 

I meant "mod test" in the sense of trying to figure out what modding potential there is in FC2......not whether already made FC mods will work in it :)

My modman doesn't work with FC 2.0. He doesn't accept the game root directory. Did you alter modman by hand?
