Sov13t Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) Soviet PMed me about that. I'm unable to duplicate this. I set the slider to the exact value he gave as an example and after 8-10 minutes it hadn't changed once. I gave it a thump with my finger hard enough to change it and let it sit again for many minutes with no changes. I tried lots of different positions on both ends of the throw, and the closest I got to jerky/unstable was that sometimes (rarely) it would make one final change about 1 second after I moved it. Never got it to go back and forth between two values. Strange. Today, I have rolled back to Firmware Ver. 18 on the Throttle, just to establish that this wasn't a hardware fault. Upon rolling back, Slider0 performed exactly as you describe it Teej, at most it would adjust once within 1 second of you letting go of the slider and the adjustment would be a value of +/- 64. I then proceeded to upgrade to Firmware Ver. 20 again, and the issue resurfaced. Not really sure what else can be done. -Sov Edited March 7, 2011 by Sov13t [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 51st PVO Regiment | Forum | Statistics DCS: MiG-21Bis
Teej Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 That is truly bizarre. Mine is definitely @ FW 20, too. I am passing it on. Teej "Tank! I need a program for a TM Warthog!" Searched hours in google but only found dead links :-( i want my smooth slider back! I looked in the target software on the device analyzer an there you can see how the value for the slider jumps about 40-60 on the axis with firmware 20, with firmware 18 there was never a jump. FWIW, I don't believe you'll ever see a movement that isn't a multiple of 64 in that mode of the analyzer. If you run the analyzer without a script/profile running, the slider only has 10 bit resolution (1024 values). Target is mapping it into a 16 bit INT for consistency... 1 "Tank! Nickhawk Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) Here it is: http://www.sov13t.com/lockon/2010_TMHW_1.zip thx men! installed it, runs now perfekt! no jumps anymore! not even one digit! :) @Teej: i normaly dont use target, installed it only for testing. Without a target profile was the same in DCS, jumpy like my old X45. Maybe there is only a problem with Firmware 20 and early HOTAS? my throttle got serial #391, now downgraded to Firmware 18, its works now like a charm again :) Edited March 8, 2011 by Nickhawk [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic62339_2.gif[/sIGPIC] AMD Phenom II x4 965 | Gainward GTX 570 Phantom 1280MB | 8GB DDR3-RAM | Win7 64bit | TM Warthog | CH Pro Pedals
bumfire Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I got my warthog last tuesday, it arrived with firmware 20 for the throttle already installed and 9 for the stick if I recall, as I only needed to flash the stick, so they are shipping with new firmware preinstalled. 1
hendo97 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 OK guys I am getting my Warthog today. What do I need to know before I install it on my PC. I don't want it to die the first time I plug it in. Any tips or tricks in programing would be great also. Seems the first couple thousand at least were on the market on day 1. Entirely possible I had mine before you had yours. As to Hondo...I don't think there's much you can do to influence whether your Warthog has issues out of the box. I think it's probably a good idea to run later firmware, but I don't have any info on changes that were made. Just seems I haven't seen (m)any crashed units with 18 or 20 firmware in the throttle. Programming isn't that tough. There's a GUI to do most things that most people will want to do, easier than it was for the Cougar back in the day. When your needs get more advanced, the script engine is extremely capable. Hard to offer 'tips' though until you decide what you want to do. "Tank! I need a program for a TM Warthog!" hreich Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Chek TM oficciL support page, there is procedure to reset firmware to "bulk" usb device...but i did this already 5 times, and each time i used different usb ports...now i dont have any new and unused usb ports to make same procedure again [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia
Kenan Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I cannot get the throttle to update its firmware. Keep getting the same error (ERROR: bulk write error. (Code: 0x0000000D) or ERROR: time-out device should had arrived in BULK. (Code:0x34100001). Though my pc tells me the drivers installed fine and says it working properly. Just the firmware updater is giving me the error and the LED stay on also. Already removed all drivers and reinstalled with the same results...:joystick: any help would be great. Joe I have the same issue. Upon trying to update the firmware, in the last step I get this for both throttle and stick: time-out device should have arrived in HID 0x34100002 I tried everything..but couldn't get windows to recognize it. They are both present as HID Compliant Game Controller in Hardware properties and when I plug them for the first time, the Windows New Hardware detect shows up and installs the neccessary drivers. It fails on the final checkup step for the firmware upgrade with the above message. Didn't install Target as it seems pretty pointless as my Warthog is not recognized in the USB Game Controllers.. Kenan Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Nevermind. Found the solution (pretty bizzare if you ask me). Tried everything, reinstall, re-plug, followed all sorts of procedures..and at the end, all I had to do is to rearrange the USBs in the back of my box. Warthog was like plugged in into those same USB ports for months now..yet, today it decided it doesn't like them anymore so I had to plug it in into different USB ports. Go figure!
