Mt5_Roie Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I have BlackShark 1, never had the hotas until now. I also own DCS A10C. Looking on steam I see BS2 for 19.99 as an upgrade to BS1. I wanted to buy from DCS website but now the price is $30 instead of $20 for the patch upgrade to BS1?? I understand the steam upgrade version will not go with the disc version of BS1. So now I might as well get the full retail version of BS2 since there is no point paying $30 bucks for just the upgrade? Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 There is no Black Shark 2 upgrade or anything else on Steam. What you see for $19.99 is Black Shark 1 (at least that is what I see). Note the 2009 release date. Mt5_Roie Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Ah seems you are right. I was looking at the dcs site info for BS2 and it states the upgrade is $20 bucks but when I went to purchase at the e-shop it shows up as $30. Weird. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) Where did you see the $19.99 price? Please post a link so that it can be checked out/corrected. Btw,go ahead as spend the extra for the full version. It will avoid some potential hassles and headaches that some on the forum have experienced with the upgrade version. I am not saying there is a problem with it but...some others seem to have had issues. cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I see what you mean. The "DCS: Black Shark 2" upgrade requires "DCS: Black Shark" and is available as a $19.99. "DCS: Black Shark 2" is also available as a full product at $39.99 There is a mistake somewhere...I am not saying anything else beyond that since it is not my place. Mt5_Roie Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks I was just confused because I was doing some online research and kept seeing people mentioning the upgrade price. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I honestly do not know what the correct price is supposed to be now. I bought the upgrade back when it came out and since replaced it with the full version for convenience but I could not tell you what I paid for either (well I could look it up) or if has changed since then. Mt5_Roie Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Yeah it has been a while since I even looked at the different modules. I've had A-10C for a long time but just now hot a decent HOTAS and when I have time off work it took me forever to get a decent x52 pro profile to function..minus the BSOD's in windows 8. For the time being I'll start off with my track ir 5 and the a-10 and go through the training over and over..good thing they did not take the interactive tracks out! I figured I would get BS 2 since it would be easier to get myself into it then move to the A-10. I really enjoy learning these sims and when I saw that BigFoot placed interactive training for BS2 I was stoked. I dunno maybe its just me but I feel like I learn alot more doing those trainings than just watching the videos and trying to set everything up after. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I understand about the training. From my perspective, the A-10 is easier to fly allowing you to devote more time to the weapons/avionics. I can barely fly the Shark so it matters little whether I can operate the weapons or not. :D The price thing should get sorted fairly quickly, I should think. cichlidfan Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 It has been fixed. The $29.99 was correct in the eshop. As I said, I would spend the extra for the full version. Mule Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I got BS2 for £5 a few months ago. I can't remember which site. I know that doesn't help right now. I need to search through an email account to find out where I got it but I will post the link when I can. They do quality deals every few weeks and I just couldn't turn it down at that price even though I have BS1. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
