It works as a JTAC just fine but I never could get a route/altitude/speed combination that did not result in very erratic flying for the drone. Of course, if you don't look at it then I guess it doesn't matter too much!;)

The rest is as per normal FAC.

No need to.

Just add the predator with the task AFAC.

You don't need to assigne the enemy units in the advanced options.

The predator will report the enemys automatically once you called it from the JTAC radio menu.

Edit: But beware! In multiplayer JTACs are not able to report enemy units which was activated by trigger!

Having trouble with this. Set Predator as JTAC as shown. I call him on the radio and he says no further tasking available. This is a night mission. I have set him to orbit above the enemy and also set a square route over the target as well. Nothing seems to work, he just tells me to go home. I set it to assign the enemy group and vice versa, still no dice.

Ah, I thought that was just the time to start them on their way. I imagine there is a hold action and timer for the waypoint. Thanks for the headsup!

Ok, have a look at this now. Before I didn't have an orbit and the Predator set up me type 2 with IR pointer. Now he refuses to give me any pointer at all with type 3. I even loaded with just laser guided munitions, but no joy. Can you have a look and see why I get no makr now? Seems like he would have LOS with an orbit overhead.

sorry to bring up an old thread,

I am trying to use a predator as JTAC it works fine, orbits and reports enemy locations.

I wanted the JTAC to report SAM and AAA threats first, but when I assign groups for the JTAC he still reports the main battle tanks first. am I doing something wrong?

Below I have listed my advanced waypoint stuff

1. FAC-a

2. EPLRS

3. ORBIT

4. IMMORTAL

5. SET FREQ

6. FAC ( ASSIGN GROUP - SAM1)

ETC

thanks for looking

EDIT : I have made the tanks invisible until they reach a particular way-point, probably not the right way of doing it

The FAC -a task will be providing the JTAC with the ability to target anything. If you want it to only hand out specific targets you'd need to remove the FAC auto task. Also, 'enroute' tasks are executed simultaneously, while the 'perform task' tasks will stop further tasks/actions listed for a waypoint from being run until the task completes. So if you assign everything via 'enroute' tasks, the order the taskings are assigned will be up to the AI. If you assign them via 'perform task', then you can control the order of the taskings.
