Polar-eX Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Hi, I fly with a Logitech Extreme 3D that uses the Logitech Profiler software (latest version). Next to that i also use trackir 4.0 with also the latest software version. As i recall (please correct me if im wrong), in LO FC2 there was a trackir ingame controller option. I miss that option within DCS A-10. The problem: I cant set the same keystroke for trackir + Logitech Profiler cause the profiler wont accept an already used keystroke. Is there an trackir centre option available within DCS A-10, which appears under another name? (center cockpit view for expample?). I tried my keyboard (as input) but its to distracting. I really need the centre button & pause button at my fingers while i fly. No there is not, and to be honest, I don't recall their being one in FC2 either but I have not looked at that keymap in a while. My TIR center is mapped directly from the stick to the TIR software. DX4 is what the stick sends. The only gotcha is if I change usb ports TIR loses track of of the stick and I have to reset it. Polar-eX Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 Hi, Sometimes...i really start to doubt if i still "have it". I have build every single PC, worked for ICT companies. I was the guy that could fix problems. But lately i notice that i dont have the "fix" anymore. Why on earth have i been trying to map a macro key to my Logitech while i could simply press a joystick button as being my centre button... Anyways, it works and offcourse the sollution was simple:music_whistling: Problem solved, case closed. Maverick-X Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hi, I didn't want to open up an extra thread as my problem is similar: TrackIR-5 will not accept hotkeys while I'm ingame. As soon as I tab out of DCS my hotkeys work. It was working fine until yesterday, can't recall changing anything. Did a fresh TIR install, that didn't cut it. Any Ideas? Thanks for the Help, mav
aeliusg Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Another guy was having this problem. Turns out another program was interfering. Make sure you don't have any other programs with the same hotkeys. Check to see if you have the key set to trap and/or toggle, too.
Maverick-X Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I've always had center on shift-1, which would interfere with a Ka-50 button for example, but that did not matter until now. Already changed the hotkey to no avail. Toggle is active, what does trap do? EDIT: Just read up on the trap function... guess that would be it. I'll try it when I'm home, but I can't recall changing it... am I getting old? ^^ Thanks for the help so far! Edited September 25, 2014 by Maverick-X
Maverick-X Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I tried it, Trap actually was enabled and I guess always was. Disabling it made no difference though.
aeliusg Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Here's the other thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130809&highlight=trackir&page=2 My TrackIR centers fine, I still think it's a key interfering with TrackIR's somewhere.
Maverick-X Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Thanks for the hint, exactly hit my problem, as shadowplay seems to interfere... First shadowplay didnt work (shadowplay didnt recognize DCS inwindowed mode), then it all worked for a few days, now TIR stopped accepting hotkeys ingame regardless of windowed or fullscreen mode... interesting behaviour
SnowTiger Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 TrackIR Reset/Center Key I am having difficulty finding a suitable alternative to F12 for TIR Reset/Center. As I'm sure you are all more aware than I am, it turns out F12 is used In-Game as the Communications EXIT key. Obviously there is no way to change that function in BS 2 or World (without programming ?) so I need to find a suitable key that I can program into TIR that is something Other Than F12. I tried NumPad 5 since that is the Center View button ... but for some reason, I am unable to Program that button in my X52 Software (I don't know why but X52 software doesn't even recognize the keystroke ??!). So the Real Problem for me is ... I have No Idea what Keystroke or Keyboard Key is Available that the Ka-50 Does NOT already use (or preferably any other DCS Sim because I'm sure to run into the same thing with P51 and A10). Please Help. This is hindering my learning process. cichlidfan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 It does get hard to come up with an unused key, or group of keys. I have been using combinations of the Backspace key. Ctrl + Backspace = Center Shift + Backspace = Pause Alt + Backspace = Precision Though I have no doubt someone will use those keys combos sooner or later. EDIT: I don't use an X-52 anymore but I don't recall having problems programming these keys. SnowTiger Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Thanks Friend. I'll give that a try. EDIT >> Except ... Can I reset those as Defaults in TrackIR ? cichlidfan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Can I reset those as Defaults in TrackIR ? Yes. cichlidfan Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The only thing TIR does not recognize, with respect to the keyboard, is the difference between left and right shift, alt or ctrl. SnowTiger Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Now if only I could get Saitek Profiler to recognize Shift+Backspace as a single keystroke/Macro. I'm not sure I have set it up right but I'll soon find out !!! Thanks again. aeliusg Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Try toggling num-lock if the Saitek Profiler won't recognize keypad 5.
SnowTiger Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I did. Didn't do anything. However, I did get it all resolved thanks to cichlidfan's suggestions. Now I'm having other serious issues .. but I guess I should start a new thread. In short, I cannot for the life of me, find ANY of my saved In-Game Profiles. I even just saved another right now as a test and it's not where I aimed it to save it ????? I think the newest patch might have muffed things up on me again !! I've searched my entire computer and can't find ANY of my saved profile .lau's SnowTiger AMD Ryzen 9 7950X - Zen 4 16-Core 4.5 GHz - Socket AM5 - 170W Desktop Processor ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-A GAMING WIFI 6E Socket AM5 (LGA 1718) Ryzen 7000 gaming motherboard Geforce RTX 4090 Gaming Trio X - 24GB GDDR6X + META Quest 3 + Controllers + Warthog Throttle, CH Pro Pedals, VKB Gunfighter MKII MCG Pro G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo Series 64 GB RAM (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 RAM
