Spasticatedtoad Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I have no idea why the latest Patch for DCS World Has caused this. And I am just as much in the dark as to how to fix it. I have tried to Repair my DCS World with no effect. I have checked my Latest video drivers ( AMD Catalyst 12.10 ) and I have also checked DCS BlackShark 2,DCS A-10C and SU-25T. There is no sign of this issue in any of those titles. I do get some of the hitching at the start of a mission in DCS BlackShark 2, but only for about 3 seconds. I have never seen anything like this in a game before so am at a total loss as to where to even start. I posted a short 6 minute video on youtube ( ) to demonstrate what I see as I am at a loss to even describe accurately what I see. The only thing I did notice is that the effect that is causing my system a headache, is used on the water as well, and seems to only be apparent once I fly away from the Airport or even fly just a short distance above it. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. EtherealN Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 From another thread: solution appears to be removal of HDR. Spasticatedtoad Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Here you go. :D Would like a track file and also details from dxdiag. Thankyou. Here you go EtherealN. Just as you asked. I hope it is correct. If you spot something that doesn't seem right, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks for your time :) If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. :)Toad's DxDiag.txtWhat I see since the update.trk
Rusty_M Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 That's funky! You could make a music video out of that! The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
Spasticatedtoad Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 lol Yeah. You sure could. I didn't know what to think when I first saw that, I immediately went through the Modules I own and found that they were almost perfect. Since updating to Ver. 1.2.2.7122, I have found that the Hitching I was getting at the Beginning of a track file or Mission, was drastically reduced in DCS P-51D Mustang, both in frame timing and length of time it was affected. Previously, this symptom was not present in any of the other modules. Only DCS P-51D Mustang. But after the update ( whilst remaining on the same Graphic settings ) I found that the Hitching was present in DCS BlackShark 2 as well. But after turning off HDR ( as suggested above ), I have since found that the hitching I was experiencing is almost Non-Existant in all of the modules on my system. Previously, altering the state of this option, did nothing to change what i saw, where now it seems to have a very direct influence over what I see. I am none-the-wiser as to why I can't use HDR, but at this point in time....I can live without it. There's nothing I look forward to at the end of a long day, than coming home and Kicking DCS into gear to unwind. I'm just glad to have it working :pilotfly:
kobac Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I have the same problem in the Black Shark-2 after update 1.2.2.7204 and I have a nVidia GF GTX460 GPU. In previous versions DCSW never had these problems. I remember that in LockOn FC 1.12 this problem was related to the shadows ... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
Spasticatedtoad Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Ha! I remember having that in LOMAC. I always used to put it down to my weak PC and had to have shadows OFF otherwise it looked more like diagonal Pinstriping on the planes than it did shadows. Until recently , I hadn't had a problem with HDR, but since switching it off, I have noticed a decent increase in FPS, but every now and then, I see a glimpse of the Diagonal Pinstriping instead of shadow. I'm more of an Flying Nut than I am a Computer Nut, so I don't catch on to fix's etc for a lot longer than many here. :) I don't mind if I can't get a million frames a second, but enough to keep me making youtube videos, will keep me happy forever.
