We've just wrapped up our most recent campaign on the Caucasus. A massive thank you to our mission makers: Jonas 'Wife' Rembratt, Seb 'Robin' Strauch, and Jason 'Snooze' Tyrlage + many more who helped test, roleplay, and produce materials. The "Winter Roses" campaign was based on a fictional late 2014, with escalating tensions in Georgia following a rigged election and the rise of the pro-democracy Rustaveli Revolution. Pro-Russian factions responded with harassment and even violence, threatening stability and security in Georgia, for civilians and UN peacekeepers alike. Russia, politically fractured and partially incapacitated due to its president being hospitalized and unconscious, failed to veto a UNSC resolution, mandating NATO with providing security for UN peacekeepers, and establishing a no-fly zone to stabilise the region. The campaign chronicled NATO's efforts to counter Russian-backed militia aggression by suppressing advanced SAM systems, and maintain air superiority while avoiding a full-scale war. Each mission represented a critical phase in the conflict: 10 missions that begun with peacetime sorties to then culminating in coordinated OCA and DEAD strikes to de-militarise the Russian-backed militia. Early missions brought new gameplay to the group and introduced players to the situation, geography, and how to act in a “cold war”, where it’s not possible to employ weapons to solve any problem, often using show of force/non lethal deterrents to resolve AI and human controlled storylines. In other words, although I understand the Campaign Builder interface, I don't quite understand how best to use it. It seems to me that persistence from mission to mission would be what really makes campaigns work best. Right now it seems that the missions in a campaign are relatively unrelated - the outcome of Mission 1 doesn't drive the situation for Mission 2. So does anyone have suggestions about how to squeeze the most out of the Mission Builder? I know it's a wide-open topic, one that could easily take dozens of written pages or a few hours of video tutorials. I see small parts of the whole being addressed, like the nuts and bolts of using the interface or the little finishing touches that can add to the realism, but has anyone done much about the actual logic behind creating a campaign? Thank ya'! Dave

Hi all, I hope this post finds everyone well. I'm not really a big-time poster here on the forums, so apologies if this post is in the wrong area or not the right thread. With the pending releases of the Afghanistan and Iraq maps and the introduction of Global War on Terrorism ground unit participants (insurgents, insurgent-type vehicles, etc.), I wanted to offer my experiences as a USMC JTAC to any of those who are looking to get a more realistic experience with JTACs in their campaigns, missions, or even to Eagle Dynamics (who I'm sure have a long list of individuals with a wealth of knowledge regarding this topic). While DCS does an okay implementation of an AI JTAC, it leaves a lot to be desired. Ranging from Air Control Measures, actual communications and their meaning, the execution of the 12-step process for CAS, rotary wing 5-lines, to Gunship/Apache Call for Fire, I'd be more than happy to advise on the implementation of such unit types to get the highest level of immersion. Having completed my first campaigns (FIWOS and Debden Eagles Campaigns) and seeing how much room there is for customization and scripting, I think there could be a lot to explore with JTAC implementation within campaigns and missions. I'm sure there are more JTACs/TACPs/CCTs in the community that would also be willing to chime in, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling as I haven't found any sort of posts for advisement/implementation. In short, I'm here to help the DCS community get the most immersive experience when flying campaigns and missions. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thank you for your time and happy flying!

As of late August, any mission either from mission menu or the campaign menu will randomly end to the debriefing screen with no cause. Can be flying around casually, and poof! Debriefing screen. Does not appear to be confined to any one module as its occurred in every aircraft ice attempted to fly. I have Uninstalled and re-installed DCS, removed all mods, and checked game file integrity via steam, no resolution so far. Issue presents in both open beta and stable release versions. Any tips or info would be appreciated.
