Faith Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 going to build a new rig is 2800mhz cl 12 worth it? asus z87 pro board thx for your input Honestly 1800 or so should be just fine even for a beefy system. I don't think RAM around that speed will ever bottleneck the system themselves. Save the money and put it towards another part. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CypherGrunyev Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 As someone who bought 2133 MHZ Ram... I can safely say... It's bull. Don't pay for it. Lange_666 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 There's talk about DDR4 RAM for the near future. I'll guess that will give you more benefit then the current DDR3. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
lucien Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 There's talk about DDR4 RAM for the near future. I'll guess that will give you more benefit then the current DDR3. Doesn't that mean a new expensive motherboard as well? DDR3 meets requirements pretty well, I think for now.
blackbelter Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Now that I have 16G of 1866 RAM in my rig, it is the last thing that I need to upgrade... DDR4? What good does it bring if DDR3 RAM is not the bottle neck...
El Hadji Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I use 16GB DDR3 1600 and I can't see that replacing it with faster RAM would make a noticeable performance gain.
