Ok been fooling around with FoxBeard excellent terrain mod and was modifying the High lua file for my preference. Got it where I want it. So I was looking into the graphic file and discovered a setting for the haze. So I can push back the haze to get it where I want it. Here is what I did.

In \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\graphics.lua there are three settings.

Line 109,129 and 149. Change this to get the haze pushed back.

here are the perfprmance hits and pics of each one. Change the red to what you want. 150000 is default

Line 109 (far_clip = 600000; ) Default is 150000

Line 129 (far_clip = 600000; ) Default is 150000

Line 149 (far_clip = 600000; ) Default is 150000

FPS Hit:

far_clip = 150000 80 fps

far_clip = 300000 75 fps

far_clip = 600000 67fps

I like the middle setting, you need some haze as it's there in real life

Agreed, the middle setting is best. At the default haze setting, I occasionally have trouble seeing the horizon. Framerate issues aside, the low setting is maybe a little bit too clear; the real sky only occasionally is that haze-free.

Haze blocks horizons :)
