Hi all

While flying one seld-made mission to test it, I noticed RWR shows allies airborne radar but EWR or SAMs allies radar doesn't...

Searched it on this forums I didnt find anything, then I read the TO 1A-10A-1 & TO 1A-10C-1 both refers to TO 34-1-1 (Weapons Delivery Manual), I only have the TO 1A-10A-34-1-1 and it doen't say anything to filter knowns or allies land radars..

Anyone can say me if it is a DCS bug/problem/issue or its well modeled?

Thanks!

A while ago we used to have Friendly ground radars show up on RWR... but it was a total disaster!

Too many new / ignorant pilots kept on attacking the friendly SAMS with SEAD because they were being 'painted'.

Real shame, as it was a real give away that a bandit was close to you when your friendly SAM network turned on and started tracking him.

Seems like kind of a silly reason. Maybe friendlies shouldn't show up on the TGP either.:music_whistling:

So you're saying that its a deliberate inaccuracy on ED's part?

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Some RWRs do supposedly have the ability to filter out friendly radar signals, after all it is a 'threat' display with a mission specific library.

I should imagine the real world is not as clear cut and linear as we see in DCS.

Some can, but it's done smartly, and is based on the selected threat library, and in cockpit/mission planning options selected by the pilot. But they don't simply fail to display "friendly" emitters, they just indicate they are friendly and/or use that data as part of the prioritisation process. Threat prioritisation also being incorrect/flat out dangerous in DCS.
