Wrecking Crew Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) BeachAV8R's GRAD EX multiplayer mission now is available for everyone to download and use. The mission is the multiplayer version of the DCS A-10C GRAD EX mission that was distributed with BeachAV8R's final PC Pilot magazine article (Issue 89, ~January 2014) about the DCS A-10C Warthog. This version includes slots for A-10As. BeachAV8R's GRAD EX mission is available at this link -- DCS A-10 Grad EX mission by BeachAV8R Take a few minutes to review the AAR for this mission on SimHQ. It is an excellent write up and a preview of the fun to be had in this challenging encounter with an SA-6 and an opposition determined to use chemical weapons -- BeachAV8R's GRAD EX AAR on SimHQ Hmmm, try it again... The final objective is the Red artillery that is attacking the Blue Patriot site - Wrecking Crew Enjoy! Blooze Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Awesome! I flew this with a buddy on Hollo Pointe and had a blast. I'll be hosting this one often to be sure. Thanks Beach and W.C. :notworthy: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BeachAV8R Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks to Wrecking Crew for ramping this mission up. It started out with a concept and a skeleton of a mission and WC just took it above and beyond.. He spent a lot of hours tweaking it up and it is really fun to fly.. Lots of opportunities for using different types of ordnance. Many thanks for his assistance and expertise.. BeachAV8R
Blooze Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 We in the MP community will be expecting big things from this partnership in the future. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
WildBillKelsoe Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I just flew it today. Really nice but I suggest having empty loadouts for I had 4X 38's and 2X 31's and no mavericks from the start to help buddies eliminate those SAM's. I had to circle around and around till I got bored and overflew the dump and got 2 in the face by a 9P31 Strela. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Midnight Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Our flight played this mission and it was a lot of fun, almost all facets of DCS A10 flight could be applied here. Well done.

Great to hear - that was the plan to have a bunch of different tactics and styles be represented in the mission. As for loadouts - yeah, for the first part of the mission I'd go with four Mavericks and 60% fuel or something like that. Stay light and maneuverable for the duel with that SA-6... BeachAV8R
Wrecking Crew Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 I like to take the #11 slot with the GBU's and switch out the outside ones for MavDs or H's. One of the guys has been engaging the SA-6 site with Hs in Force Correlate from about 12 miles out -- that adds a new aspect to Mavericks that I hadn't messed around with too much before this. I will get the left engine going and hit the LAlt-' and adjust my loadout and fuel asap. GRAD EX is a great mission, I do say! WC I have had success coming in low with a 65D and hitting the radar unit first. That disables the launchers. It's a truly engaging and challenging mission without all the fancy stuff that so many are trying to incorporate in their missions and IMO should be used as a guide for mission designers. I added a couple KA-50 slots for the chopper freaks and a good time was had by all. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
