I also like taxiing with the canopy open.

And I went further

I bought the simracingstudio wind system

It is compatible with DCS world and you can configure it in this way..

When the canopy is closed there is no wind and when you open the canopy the wind starts and increases proportionally with your speed.

The system was built with racing simulators in mind but it's fully adjustable so it works well also at low taxi speeds and in VR is very immersive.

I like to keep my canopy open, during the ramp starts & taxi's. I just like to hear my engines, and everything else... :) Heck, even after I land, and I"m taxiing around the airfield as well.

For the ex-military, flight line folks & pilots, was curious if I'd be in violation of some ground operations protocol. :)

Regardless, it's my bird, and I'm gonna do what what I wanna do in the sim.

It is against FOP. The key to that is there has to be a safety reason to do so. Taxing with them up and more specifically "turning" because that really is the key issue here, can cause misalignment of the canopy and stress parts.

Most of the time, it is understood if it is blazing hot, they will be up as even with cockpit air on high it's blowing desert hot air as cool as it can..

Yes, but that's a special airshow or display jet...the Combat guys wouldn't be doing that...crazy Belgians! ;^)
