Is it possible to have completely independent mouse control from track IR view? What i mean is that at the moment you can move the mouse independently until you hover over a control then if you move your track IR view slightly it moves the cursor. Is there a way to stop this?

Funkster, try setting trackIR pause to mouse scroll wheel button so that you can easily pause trackIR/do your switch magic and unpause.:D

Thanks Wolf. I do that sometimes but just wondered if I was missing a trick. Guess not, would be good to implement along with in game mouse (cockpit) sensitivity too.

Independent mouse control

What might be even more convenient for you is binding mouse4/browser back to pause TIR as long as it is held down, and naturally un-pause TIR when released. That is way faster than lifting your index finger from the left mouse button to the wheel and then click the wheel in a hurry without accidentally scrolling it. And repeating this to un-pause again. By using mouse4 you have your thumb to temporarily pause TIR while you still have your index finger and middle finger free to quickly click left and right mouse and scroll the wheel.

You can achieve this easily using AutoHotKey. What you should tell AHK is along these lines:

If mouse4 is pressed: click wheel once

If mouse4 is released: click wheel once

It's all a matter of a few miliseconds and you will never notice any latency. AHK has a very large amount of tutorials and examples as well as a friendly IRC community. Heck I might even bet you'll find the exact script pre-made if you Google it.

Just have a 3-button mouse myself but I use the middle-wheel/button to toggle precision mode instead of pause. I find it steady enough that i can click buttons.

I don't think that would be necessary now that I've thought about it, the cursor could still be on a 2d plane as it is now, x and y axis. However it would simply subtract any trackIR movement values, so that way it would appear to stand still while you move your head.

That would lead to some very strange mouse movements when moving your head and mouse at the same time I believe.

You could make it stick to whatever cockpit surface you are pointing it at similar to the hand in the Black & White video games but that would take some programming.
