Skulleader Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hello, I need your explanation, I have created one mission with a Ramp Start for my A-10C and after have switch ON the battery and Inverter I've noted that the fuel quantity is not the same in my left and right tanks. In my Editor Mission I have 100% of fuel. I join you one screenshot for show you that I explain to you: Please can you tell me if you too you have the same quantity of fuel after one Ramp Start ? A great thanks in advance for your assistance. PFunk1606688187 Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 My test button has never shown me a perfectly symmetrical fuel load. I recall always having 5900 on the test total. Asymmetry could be due to the APU drawing only from one tank (via the DC Fuel pump). Is this only before you start APU or after? Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
Skulleader Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) Hello, In fact I do not start the APU, just the battery and the inverter, I join you one little video who show this asymmetry from my Youtube... Thanks again, Skull. NoCarrier Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I'm sure you know, that's more or less how it's supposed to work. When the indicator's working, using the indicator test button will make the needles move to the 3 and 9 'o clock position and the totalizer will show around 6,000 pounds. It's close enough for government work, and I wouldn't worry about it.
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 If you press the test switch, the indicators should indicate a certain amount, within a tolerance. I can't recall them on the top of my head, you'll have to check the manual. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
MTFDarkEagle Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Just checked the dash-1: 8. Fuel quantity - Check. a. Test indicator button - Depress. L and R pointers will read 3,000 (±300) pounds, totalizer will read 6,000 (±400) pounds. b. Fuel display selector - Verify total by checking in each position and reset to MAIN. NOTE Fuel gauge indicator tolerance is ±600 pounds of actual fuel loaded on the aircraft. Regardless of indications given during the fuel quantity indicator test, the fuel quantity indicated by the needles and gauge totalizer may be higher or lower than actual fuel available by ±150 pounds per system L/R Wing and L/R Main. marluk Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) I have noticed those differences too. Maybe airplane itself doesn't have 100% symmetrical weight distribution. So, the reason for this small difference in fuel quantities could be to balance the airplane. MTFDarkEagle Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Something I just noticed and should add: Notice how you are not looking straight at the gauge. You're looking at it from an angle. Try looking at it from straight ahead. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
