DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Hello, I installed DCS World 1.2.8 last week and it didn't like my Black Shark install at all, so I removed it and installed 1.2.7 which was quite happy to accept my BS install. However, I was wondering is there an "upgrade path" to change my BS1 and BS2 Upgrade into a single BS2 install? The install process is a bit of a faff at the moment and caused issues with 1.2.8 so I was wondering if I had missed something in the many months I haven't been around that would enable me to convert my licences into a single one? Cheers. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

sobek Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Well I downloaded it from the site, I am pretty sure it was labelled up as 1.2.8 Beta. I don't know what you downloaded but it definately was *not* 1.2.8. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Hmmm, I will take a look at the install file when I get home. Has 1.2.7 ever had a beta that was about a 20MB download and then about 12GB download in program? Anyway, that's sort of a side issue, this was more about the combining of the licenses. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sobek Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yes, that was possibly the open beta 1.2.7 web installer. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 That might explain it then. Can I update my 1.2.7 to the 1.2.8 web installer, or do I have to start again? I am thinking I am better to jump over now before I get too settled in. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sobek Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If you want to go to open beta 1.2.8 you can update your existing 1.2.7 open beta install. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Is there a guide on how to do that? Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sobek Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Not necessaey, simply run dcs_updater.exe in your open beta/bin folder. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Just for the record it was 1.2.7 (DCS_World_OpenBeta_web_3.exe) Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DTWD Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Not necessaey, simply run dcs_updater.exe in your open beta/bin folder. I don't have that folder, sorry. Can I install the 1.2.8 web over the top of my 1.2.7 "normal" install? Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
