i reckon a simple way to implement it would be to use the current dust effect and render it in a different colour, with a nice wake effect too :p

That is what I had in mind !

 

Imagine a 2-ship t/o then, it will be a challenge for the wingman to keep tally on his lead and the RWY if he can't manage to maintain position (side-side) ....

They have different crash effects, pile of rubble, and stone in pond effect, so there is some kind of discrimination on above what surface the plane is flying. I guess they weren't statisfied with the results and left it out. Can't blame them, I welcome those odd 8-15 fps.

Can we have a spray of water at t/o and landing on wet runways, plz ?

 

Should be possible when modifying the dust-plume-script.
