Sierra99 Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Is there any way to modify the weights of specific aircraft? The Empty and Maximum Weights for the KC-135 are off significantly. Operating/Empty weight should be in the neighborhood of 120,000 Lbs and Maximum Takeoff Weight is 322,500 Lbs for the R Model. Flagrum Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Bump Acording to the ME, the max weight is 321875 lbs but if you load 100% fuel, it takes off with 298424 lbs. The difference of 23451 lb = 10.5 t is what you are complaining about?
Cali Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 He use to work on them so he has a pretty good idea of the weights. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED

Too many years of memorizing specific numbers.... (HEY CALI!) But I was wondering where you see the difference exactly that, erm, "bother" you. :o)
Sierra99 Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Well, "complaining" might have been a bad choice of words on my side. But I was wondering where you see the difference exactly that, erm, "bother" you. :o) The reason it's "bothering" me and I'm "complaining" is I spent 22 years doing the weight and balance paperwork when we flew...since "Close enough" just wasn't good enough I have more than a few numbers committed to memory and when I see number that don't fit... It stands out. :smilewink: it's an attention to detail thing that I'd like to change if it's feasible. So many things are changeable in this game I figured someone would say, "go here, modify this file...etc. but if not... Meh no biggie... That being said here's why I'm interested. When I add tankers to maps, I try to plan their on-station times to be realistic to add another challenge. In real life, tankers don't take off with full tanks and fly forever or "RTB AT BINGO" as we can set it in the game. Many factors play into how much fuel a tanker can takeoff with or offload at a given time. We also don't carry gas were not gonna give or use. Offload Available (per tanker) = total fuel - (dist / TAS x fuel flow) - dest resv KC-135R model weighs 120,00lbs... Fuel flow about 11,000lbs an hour... 66,000lbs 2 flights of 4 A-10Cs each wanting 5,000 lbs - 40,000lbs Reserve fuel 20,000lbs you're up to a 246,000lbs takeoff weight without too much trying...and haven't even figured in runway length etc... If you're having trouble sleep peruse this... https://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/usaf/docs/afpam10-1403.htm NOW...back to my original question... Are these numbers we can modify?:music_whistling: Sierra [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Primary Computer ASUS Z390-P, i7-9700K CPU @ 5.0Ghz, 32GB Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, ZOTAC GeForce 1070 Ti AMP Extreme, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe drives (1Tb & 500 Gb), Windows 10 Professional, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Thrustmaster Warthog Stick, Thrustmaster Cougar Throttle, Cougar MFDs x3, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals and TrackIR 5. -={TAC}=-DCS Server Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3, i7-3770K CPU @ 3.90GHz, 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 @ 1600Mhz, ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 970.
Flagrum Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Not questioning your motives, just wondering which weight you saw being off. :o) And if I understood you correctly, the a/c empty weight is off (as the max. take off weight seems about reasonable, right?). Anyhow, you can try to alter this file: ...\DCS World\Scripts\Database\planes\KC-135.lua return plane( "KC-135", _("KC-135"), { EmptyWeight = 44663, MaxFuelWeight = 90700.0, MaxHeight = 12000.0, MaxSpeed = 860, MaxTakeOffWeight = 146000.0, Picture = "KC-135.png", Rate = "100", Shape = "KC-135", WingSpan = 40, ... (note: everything is metric - kilograms, meters, etc.)
Neon67 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 as long as we are on the tankers subject, do they consume the same fuel they give to others aircrafts or is it on a separate tank ?
