I wasn't sure if I read that right, are these going to be aircraft flying under the authority of the USMC and/or RN or are these airframes intended for those bodies that'll be flown by Lockheed test pilots?

Either way, it'll be a grand bit of PR.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Sorry P*Funk, I don't really know. What I can say is that for at least RIAT there is 1 JSF flying under the RAF banner and 2 under the USMC banner this is listed in the confirmed aircraft list listed as 'F' (flying).

They have a very basic demo flown by USMC pilots already. You can see it on YouTube, but it's nothing particularly exciting except to see how stable the hover is. Hopefully they come up with something more dramatic for RIAT.

Is that common on early edition aircraft?

Definitely, especially for something that is still technically in flight testing. They're just parading it around, not really giving a capabilities demonstration.

While I don't want to start with the JSF bashing (it's always the same with new airframes, I remember it with F 22, Typhoon and probably all the way back to the Spitfire).

That said one can assume that as JSF is showing up the tickets for the show have doubled, and will inflate at a rate of 1% per week until the show date.

Ouch lol , that "golf clap" in the end

Also, i heard "extreme agility" , but they did not really show it , just a very cautious take off and landing it seemed ?

edit* nevermind i should read before posting
