As a general rule... If your current install of DCS World offers to update, a new (non-beta) patch is out.

So yes, it's out!

The problem for me is there not telling us if there will be more openbeta updates so we don't know whether to delete the openbeta install thats taking up space.

Least thats my issue and as part of my other job need to keep it if more are coming.

Unless ED abandons the Open Beta program, there will always be more updates. However, the next one might not be for a couple months (until 1.2.9 is getting close).

did we get the 'Edge' GFX engine (64bit) or is that still in the pipe-line?

No EDGE, not sure what you meant by 64bit.

I'm running the current openbeta and the last update I received this morning was v1.2.8.27203, which is the same version the release is at. So am I correct in thinking there's no actual need for the branch switch, or will I lose any hotfixes etc. if I stay with the beta?

It has been out for about 24 hours. Try running the updater from the start menu?

Thanks, I've tried that also with negative results, I'll give it another try.

Yep, I think after 1.2.7 openbeta they went back to internal releasing for awhile before the 1.2.8 beta could be wrong but thats how I remember it. smile.gif

That is at least how I would it expect to happen. Before an open beta, an internal beta should reveal the biggest bugs and the roughest edges. There would be no point in hundreds of OB testers to get stuck on all kind of "simple", but show-stopping bugs.

I have not read up on what the 1.28 update entailed... did we get the 'Edge' GFX engine (64bit) or is that still in the pipe-line?
