Sabre-TLA Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Diveplanes sounds are pretty good: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/648201/ MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Buckeye Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I DL'ed the mod that Sabre recommended above, I am really enjoying it so far. The in-cockpit sounds are a great addition, I find them to be very useful to gauge and monitor my throttle control. External sound adds are great too, always good to hear your aircraft giving off a nice roar. EtherealN Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Note that a sound being "real" actually says a lot less about quality and actual realism than you might think. You don't get a good sound mod simply through sticking a microphone up to a real jet. (Though, in actual fact, most DCS sounds does have that provenance.) Making good sounds requires taking said sound recordings and processing them appropriately for use by this specific sound engine. Otherwise the result will end up less than optimal, no matter how "real" they are. A skilled sound engineer will get you a more realistic result with a "fake" sound than a mediocre sound engineer will with a "real" one. diveplane Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 easy enough to generate startup audios, my audio production for f-15 does not include startup sounds. the 2.0 production mainly focuses on the more difficult audio sounds of flight and flyby sounds. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

Would you have any idea as to why my sound has been cutting out periodically since installing the latest mod? It usually happens when I hit the burners, sound kicks up then goes out and I just get a "stale air" sound...eventually normal sound (burners) will come back. Should I just try reinstalling the mod? Buckeye Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 need to provide a video will help more. I don't have any recording software available, unfortunately. It is basically just that I am flying along with perfect sound and BOOM, engine sounds are gone and all I hear is a static air noise (similar to the sound you hear when your ears pop). This lasts for various duration's, but the sound eventually comes back...I'd say it "usually" goes dead for a minute or two before returning. I know this is really no help at all to you for problem solving, my apologies. I will try to reinstall, and report back tomorrow with results. No worries.
