SafetyTurtle Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I just got FC3 to fly the F15, problem is when I try to take off and increase throttle it makes a very sharp turn to the right and I end up out in the grass. I've tried correcting with rudder but it dosn't really help...usually it turns very suddenly and very sharp. Can't figure out exactly what I'm doing wrong here and hope someone might be able to help out.
leafer Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Did you save the track? Perhaps you accidentally engaged your right toe-break or right throttle was left at idle? Check your control setting. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
cichlidfan Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Definitely check your control settings. DCS default assignments are rarely useful and often conflicting. Check for rudders assigned to throttle axis. The best way to set up axis assignments is to first delete all default settings (use the clear category button) and then specifically assign just what you need/want. You can recognize this by the fact that it takes a LOT of thrust to get moving. Before I discovered this, I suffered similar symptoms to what you're describing. What was happening (I think) was that one of my tires was blowing out at high speed due to the brake being engaged, sending me off onto the grass. Try inverting the Toe Brake axes in the configuration manager and see if that helps. i7-7700K @ 4.9Ghz | 16Gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz | MSI Z270 Gaming M7 | MSI GeForce GTX 1080ti Gaming X | Win 10 Home | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind pedals | Oculus Rift S
SafetyTurtle Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 I got it working, thanks alot for your replies. Turns out it had mapped the rudder to some axis on my joystick even though it isn't a twist stick.
