mancrow Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I get this about halfway through my update. I have installed the DCS: P-51D from dvd rom I purchased. have uninstalled and reloaded twice now and nothing but probs...game runs fine disc standalone though..it is the American version. any help will be appreciated I have nothing to so with steam S~
Sceptre Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 you don't install the CD. You need to download DCS: P-51D from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com and install it into DCS World. Then use the serial number provided in your copy of P-51D. I had the same problem with the A-10C and I got it working with this method. RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
mancrow Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 S~~Sceptor This is my ops procedure: uninstall game and everything tied to it. I have the latest version of DCS world 1.2.8.27203.421.315 via uTorrent. I will install directly to C: when installed open shortcut and down load P-51 and then I will get back wif you if me and my computer survive this far:pilotfly: okie dokie and thanks I mean a BIG thanks chow
mancrow Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 S~ Sceptor, the mod is downloaded and just to be sure I "run" the installation module diredctly to the DCS-World, ie I do not open folder and install to something within...Is this Correct?
joey45 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Try installing through the module manager. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. When you run the exe for your module, it will find your DCS World installation and when it prompts you for an install path it will (should) already have the correct path to install it inside of DCS World. cichlidfan Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 No problem. Btw, it won't ask for your key until you try to fly a mission. In case you haven't already discovered that. Y0UNGBL00D Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 figured i'd piggyback on this instead of starting a new thread... (hi btw!) can i install A10C into DCSW if i got DCSW through steam? i cant seem to find the folder with DCSW in it to point A10C to, and the reason i went to steam in the first place was because the DCSW files wouldn't let me in without a login/password, which didnt seem to be my ED site login info. admittedly it was all downloading last night, and i haven't had a real chance to try it in DCSW today, but was just curious. does anyone know the FTP password/login info?

If you get a password prompt from the FTP link, it means that it is too busy for another 'anonymous' connection. You cannot install modules downloaded from ED into a Steam copy of DCS World. Everything must have the same source, either Steam or ED. Btw, your Steam files are probably in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCS World ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! aaron886 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 He could easily get his key from steam, then use the Module Manager in-game. Right? BTW... wrong place for this thread.
