I recently updated to 1.2.8 I tried to use the free P-51, but no controls work on it. In addition, they keyboard doesn't work either (e.g. Can't even use Escape to exit out - I have to use task manager). Any thoughts?

In which mission you tried it? Was it a selfmade (new or old mission or at least resaved to convert it to new?) or sth like instant mission or multiplayer?

Do you play BETA or STABLE version?

If selfmade mission, check if your TF-51D in the editor is set to "Player" and not the the AI.

As said, if it's an old and not resaved mission very strange bugs occure.

Go into the main menu and check if your TF-51D installation is from the latest build (see number underneath the A/C icon)

Try finding the input folder for the TF-51 and delete it and let the game recreate it, and/or try a repair.

Might be the same i got today, started the game, went to Controls, all planes empty, no vertical or horizontal columns, no Text, not even the functions on the left, just blank window. And no Loading bar as i entered the controls page.

I can imagine that if i had launched to 3d World, no ESC key and nothing else would have worked.

Restarted DCS (Click on exit still worked) and everything normal.

I'm new to DCS, so I'm not sure what to delete. I do not play Beta. I did do a repair, and that did not work.

 

What I notice that is strange is that under the TF-51D Easy Controls, nothing is listed. No axis, buttons, anything. I can't even add anything.

Delete this folder to reset the TF-51D to default.

In general, issues with controls will not be solved by a repair as that stuff is all stored under the Saved Games\DCS folder which is not touched by uninstall or repair. A reinstall will also use them as is, if they exist.

That is interesting, it should be created when you set up any custom controls. Are you doing it from the menu, or within the sim while trying to fly?

Those folders do exist with subfolders and files in them.

 

I can set custom controls for Real mode, but Easy is totally blank.

When you say blank, do you mean in the control screen nothing is set? I just went and tried mine for Easy and it worked fine, created a TF-51D Easy folder

There is simply nothing there. The Columns show - Action, Keyboard, Mouse, etc. but there is nothing there. I can export to HTML, and it obviously shows nothing.

Hmmm... that is really weird, what if you highlight an action for say they keyboard and click on default, does it populate anything?

I guess I can't explain it well enough (and can't seem to take a screen shot either). There is no actions at all. It is just a blank screen. The columns show, but no "mappings" are there at all.

You may have to try a clean install, I am not sure how you can get this back.

I have a weird one, when playing in simulation and the fly for fun mission the alieron trim and the elevator trim are swapped, the rudder seems ok. Adjust aileron trim and nose goes up or down, with elevator plane rolls left or right. I've uninstalled and freshly downloaded 1.28 but still the same any ideas?

Did you change the controls from the default?

We have the same problem. A friend have no controls - and is not able to set ONE them. He only got the basic version of DCS. We tried to reinstall the game multiple times, nothing worked.

 

Me, for myself (having A10-C and P-51D too), can only adjust the TF-51D EASY Controls. I have no problem with that. But this are not the controls for the multiplayer. If i start a multiplayer game, the controls does not fit to my settings i made before. I think, there is a category missing in the options - for TF51D Sim. I need to adjust this ones for the MP. But i can not reach this controls in the options.

there are 2 sets, named :

 

- TF-51D

- TF-51D_easy

 

The second one seems to be the Category shown in the Control-Settings. The first one is not reachable. And i think, this are the important ones for Multiplayer.

Well if you only can set the Easy controls and the server you join limits you to simulation its possible it will try and read from the other control profile. Why you cant set any controls in that is beyond me...

Hi, no I was using the mouse and clicking and dragging. Interesting when using a track IR at the same time.
