Milkbone Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I've placed 4 Apaches in an airport and set them a waypoint to somewhere else. I've set them to take off from parking lot yet they do not budge. Am I doing something wrong?
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 they are fueled up? are you giving them enough time to start up? I will repost once i add some helos to my mission to see if same behaviour occurs with mine.
Milkbone Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 They are fueled up with engines running. Nearby A-10s Take off, fight their target, and RTB and they are still sitting there blades spinning. How long is the start up time usually?
Milkbone Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Ok, I discovered that NOTHING will leave their parking spots if a Player is parked there. Good to know!
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 by parked what do you mean? on the helo pad beside them? I would have checked myself about my helos but I am behind in my script trying to get it ready for this weekend... doesn't look like I will make that deadline.
Milkbone Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Sorry, Let me Clarify. If the player is parked in a parking spot any and all other AI vehicles parked in the same airport will refuse to budge until the player has started to move and is no longer considered parked. Now this is the first time I've heard about Helipads. Do all airports have them or is it just a few? Do I have to build them?
baltic_dragon Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Helipads can be added in structures - they can be placed anywhere in the map (provided the area you choose is flat). They are treated as an airbase, but to be fully working you'd need to add additional structures, like fuel depot etc. For more information, please visit my website.
