ajax Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Eno, I noticed the log files are riddled with Mist and Slmod errors. If you don't mind, humor me and try this version of Mist with one of these missions. Run it for a few minutes and repost the dcs.log file.Mistv3_3a.lua
ENO Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 (edited) I've posted about those before and was told that it was nothing significant... but I will definitely give it a shot! ENO Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Hey Ajax... is that MIST file you have there the same as one corrected the way you described in the other thread in mission builders? I do have a file modified that way... did you make other changes? Look forward to trying it out! "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. ajax Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Yes, it's the same. No other changes. My intent here is to try to get rid of the Mist errors first. Then see if you still get slmod errors.
ENO Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Okay. I adjusted the file but didn't go back in all my missions and switch it out. Will advise. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
ENO Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Eh Ajax... haven't played it yet on MP but I did run Hosta with the modified MIST file (I don't have CTTS on this one) and it did appear like a bunch of the errors that showed up previously are dealt with. ajax Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Okay, good. It looks like the all the Mist and Slmod errors went away. Now I guess the next thing to try is to let the mission run for a while and see if it crashes again.

ajax Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 So the Slmod errors are back. The '-- world event hook' phrase is in Slmod's event Lua file (can't remember the exact name). I spent considerable time last night trying to find the 'getPlayerName' function in the Slmod source files, but no luck. I'll look some more tonight.
ENO Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Here's a weird one from before... I think it's the groups to random zones causing it... a MIST function technically but for some reason it's not playing well. Ajax... you might be able to dig this one out. ajax Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) Actually, those errors look like Slmod errors, not Mist errors. I haven't had time to dig around in Slmod yet. Try an experiment: Unload Slmod but keep Mist in and see if things behave better. Edited June 1, 2014 by ajax

Wrecking Crew Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Hollo Pointe server, v128.27914 Here is a zip of logs and crash files from the last couple of days. I am running Slmod and Mistv3_3.lua. It seems that more of the 'DCS Stopped Working' issues are from missions with F-15Cs (.miz included in zip). I'll try to update the Mist version in the next few days... AndyJWest Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I hadn't run DCS for a couple of months. Updated to 12.8. Any suggestions?

Wrecking Crew Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I had another DCS Stopped Working message on Hollo Pointe today. The logs are attached. The mission was the same as the one described in my June 1st post, above. Slmod is not running. Mist v3_0 is still the version on all my missions that use it, but this particular mission that was running today and for the June 1 post does not use Mist. Let me know if there is more I should be posting... FYI, in the last few days, Hollo Pointe has also seen three Can't Connect To Master disconnects. Not sure what that's about. The server is on a Comcast 60 MByte connection. WC Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. ENO Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 I think if you're going to continue to use MIST, you NEED to update it to the 3.3a (for those missions that use MIST- that is.) "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art

AndyJWest Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I think I've tracked down what was causing my problems - I was using an old Saitek RumbleForce gamepad as a secondary controller, and unplugging it has cured the crash. I've had problems with it before, and I should probably bin it...
ENO Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 These two missions crash consistently and I have no clue why... with SLMOD on and off... they both crater. Can someone take a stab at it? These are the missions associated to the dcs logs attached in previous posts. I don't think Killbox even generates crash logs- Anyway.
