Ramstein Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Two days ago, there was no update, that I know of, then last night, we flew and when I started DCS it said there is an update. I was worried that the host had no yet updated, so I declined, using the option 'later'. Now after we flew I am going to run the update. I started DCS, and now it doe snot ask if I want to update... what the ?? how do I get the update I delayed... thanx.. update, I ran dcs update file, and there is no update, so I am really confused now. I have v 1.2.8.27203 Edited May 30, 2014 by Ramstein ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
sobek Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Call up the windows start menu, navigate to Eagle Dynamics, then DCS world, there should be a menu entry called Update DCS World. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Ramstein Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 well, it runs update when I start it, and I ran it, I just had to wait one day for it to work again.... no one else figured this out... so if you choose 'not now', you have to wait a day or so for it to ask again, and allow it to run update.. Following the instructions above would have allowed you to run the Updater whenever you like instead of waiting a day (which most DO know about since it has worked that way for two years). Edited May 31, 2014 by cichlidfan ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Flagrum Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) I told you that would not work.... and I have been working with computers for 30 years.. I am using the 1.2.8. Open Beta as "regular" installation. So I haven't started, let alone updated, my standard 1.2.8 installation for a while. I started "DCS Update" and it asked me to update. I declined. I started it again. It asked me again to update. But truth to be told, I have only spent 12 years in IT business ... (but nobody figured this out here, yet!) Edited May 31, 2014 by Flagrum
