Game Options list my resolution twice??

I have a 4 monitor setup, with 3 monitors (in nVidia Surround) for the game screen, and a 4th touchscreen below in the center. Ever since I added these extra monitors last January the game has listed my 5760x1080 resolution twice. (see attachment)

 

Is this a bug? If not, why is it there? And is there any difference between selecting one over the other? :doh:

That just means that there is probably an extra entry in the resolution section in optionsData.lua. I used to mod that file and at some point I had two entries for my added resolution. It doesn't cause a problem, or at least it shouldn't.

Are the Aspect Ratios the Same?

 

I think one is 16:9 (1.7777777) and the other is 48:9 (5.3333333).

 

I think I have 2 inmy list as well, because I ran DCS in Extended 3 Screens mode at one point and then went back to Eyefinity.

 

There's pros/cons to both modes.

 

Eyefinity/Extended both need some FoV Adjustments.

 

Eyefinity will have 3rd screen tearing if using HDMI/DVI and Display Port Mixed.

Extended wont have tearing, but screenshots will only show the desktop screen, extended screens (in my case, left and right screens), the screenshots will be blank.

Extended Mode has a small (less than 2% FPS Hit). Being 3 Individual Display Pipes for 3 Separate Screens, where as Eyefinity is Mapped as one large Screen and 1 Display Pipeline. Depends on Driver though, with 14.4 there is no FPS hit.

 

I ran extended to get rid of Eyefinity Tearing for a while until I acquired a GPU with enough MiniDPs to run all 4 Gaming screens on DP and the other 2 on DVI.

I thought aspect was just width/height? So they would have the same aspect?

 

Where is the optionsData.lua? Yesterday, after reading an old post, I looked in the MissionEditor folder, but it was not there. Has it moved?

The file is in ..\DCS World\MissionEditor\data\scripts

Yea, I looked in MissionEditor/data/scripts yesterday also, but it is not there. I did an update to DCS yesterday, so maybe it has been changed?

Does anybody know where this mythical optionsData.lua file resides now? ;-)
