kontiuka Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I was just testing the countermeasures/ECM in the A-10C and I noticed that the Tunguskas consistently launched their missles without getting a lock on me. I thought it might be a bug with the RWR in the A-10C so I switched to the A-10A. Again, the Tunguskas were able to launch in search mode without having a lock on me. Is this a bug or expected behaviour?
naizarak Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 (edited) tunguska uses saclos guidance for missiles, radar for guns(i believe). EDIT: was mistaken, it's saclos with radar assist, not laser Edited June 5, 2014 by naizarak 1

kontiuka Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Actually, I'm led to another question. If the Tunguska uses the HOT SHOT radar system, why does it show up as SNOW DRIFT (SD) on my RWR?
karambiatos Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 you can actually keep the radar off, and still launch a missile, i dont know if there is any difference between guiding with it on or off. A 1000 flights, a 1000 crashes, perfect record. =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC"] Check out my random mods and things
