Azazel Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I bought the F-15C last night and I must say it is fun to fly. The cockpit is beautifully done. That being said, I'm already ready for the big kid version of it. Functioning switches, avionics fully modeled, MFD fully functional, also the radar seems a bit underwhelming currently, etc. My point here is that I'd pay full price for a A-10C level of detail on the Eagle. Thx. My Rig: EVGA GTX 1070 x 2 | EVGA x58 SLI classified | i7 X 990 CPU | 24 GB RAM | Windows 10 Home 64 bit| Track IR Pro | CH Fighter Stick | CH Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
winchesterdelta1 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Did you only bought the F-15C? And not the FC3 module? Because yes thats a little expensive. Otherwise you would have 6 planes for the same price. And the SU-27 would be freely upgraded for you to have AFM/PFM. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
Sceptre Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Not against the idea, but ED has a lot on their plate ATM. There's the Hornet, EDGE, Flanker AFM, FW-190, MiG-29 Model and AFM, the whole Oculus Rift thing, and probably more before they can even think about making clickable buttons for the F-15C. Azazel Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 I try to support them as much as possible: I have the A-10C and P-51D as well. I never fly the Flankers, Frogfoot, or A-10A so I guess I didn't want the extra data taking up space (even if its only a little). If they did an updated FC version of the Mig-29S I would buy that too. In general I don't like the inner workings of FC: it always ends up being more keyboard work (no matter how well I program my HOTAS) and lack of clickable cockpit tend to bother me. As to your quote on modern jet sims all I can say is that I am looking forward to the Mig-21bis, F-86F, and Fw-109 Dora. I'll buy all those. If your choice is to buy the F-15C standalone for 40 Euro to support them, than don't complain about it being expensive. You could have way more for the same price. And sometimes its fun to fly other planes. And i can tell you other people are enjoying the MIG-29 a lot right now with the new 6dof cockpit. I think your missing out on that. But that is just my personal opinion. Hope to see you in MP soon to do some flying. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
Sceptre Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 And I can tell you other people are enjoying the MIG-29 a lot right now with the new 6dof cockpit. I think you're missing out on that. Since when did this happen? EDIT: lol, you probably mean the Flanker and accidentally put MiG-29. Had me excited there  RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5

In fact I really don't care about that aspect that much. 20-50 bucks seems reasonable for the amount of work the developers put in. It's not that bad. I got the X52 pro stick and the only thing I press on keyboard is gear, flaps and radios. There are not so much controls in the FC3. I fly also the Su-25 and that one is even easier to setup. btw the su25(a) is quite fun to fly :-) Edited June 25, 2014 by lanmancz [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Elite, Intel i9 9900K, Fractal Design Kelvin S36, Zotac GTX 1070 8GB AMP Extreme, 32GB DDR4 HyperX CL15 Predator Series @ 3000 MHz, Kingston SSD 240GB (OS), Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M.2 NVMe (sim), Fractal Design Define R5 Black Window, EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2, Win 10 Home x64, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster MFD Cougar Pack, TrackIR (DelanClip), 3x 27" BenQ EW2740L, Oculus Rift S
blkspade Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I really don't get everyone's issue with the 'keyboard' in relation to FC aircraft. I have been flying for years with either an X52, CH stick/throttle, and now a warthog. The level of modeling of the aircraft completely allow for like 98% joystick mapping. Anyone that flies the F-15C with a warthog could map basically everything that matters to the stick in its realistic location (mostly), and have buttons/switches left for fringe items. I pretty much only fly the Eagle and only use the keyboard to close my canopy, access rearm/radio menus, eject (if ever) and chat. http://104thphoenix.com/
