Are you allergic to latex? You'd know if you were, many rubber products contain latex. I do not know, but the joystick might have latex in its rubber, too.

However if you are not allergic to latex, then maybe it's not the joystick you are reacting to, but something else?

Not me, but since it's a rubber of some kind, I guess it's possible, right? Is it bad?

It is very bad yes. So bad I have had trouble sleeping.

I have strong evidence that it is the joystick. I recently moved and my PC was down for about a month and my flight gear for about two. During that two months I had no issues. As soon as I starting playing DCS again the symptoms returned almost immediately.

I would hate to think I was allergic to DCS :megalol:

In all seriousness I hate this. I mostly play helo's and value force feedback for the trimming capability. I really have no other options besides the G940. Even if I did I am not in a position to make a purchase at this time.

I would give anything to have an updated Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 (or I guess in this case 3). I still have my 2 and it is an awesome stick, it just does not have enough buttons. The G940 has been disappointing on every level. Half the time the hat and cross pad don't work on the throttle (2 directions each fail all the time), the stick has a lot of slop and is imprecise, the R2 scrolling wheel on the throttle jumps around.

I guess I will have to start wearing gloves....... yuck.

I really, really, REALLY wish Microsoft would step up and release a force feedback again.

As for the slop, if you're willing to tear it down, you can improve the stick a lot by shimming the linkage to the x-axis motor (the top one) and moving the magnet closer to the sensor with a washer or two. Extend the stick by moving it a notch up on the shaft while you're at it. Once I did all that hovering in the Huey like a pro was a cinch. You have to be careful with the magnet, though. A fraction of a millimeter off, and the stick is going to center crooked, which is a pain in the ass. Get it right, and it's the best stick for helis with simffb besides a fully extended Warthog. But I can understand if you're allergic to the thing; heck, obviously they were too at Logitech, cause they couldn't support the thing for but a year.

I have this HOTAS as well and apart from haveing the spike issue on the throtle its great for me. I asked a apliance electrisan to rewire the throtle with better cable and the pedals too. Well worth it.

The allergic issue.... well... yeah windex window cleaner and/or light weight gloves ;)
