TonyStovepipe Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Hi all. I have this board http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=205 And I have 4 switches that have lights when turned on can I hook them up to this board? If I can do I solder all of them to the +5v or do it another way? Thank you for any help you can give me.
Abburo Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I would not reccomend to use the USB power on buttons lights. Use a cheap external power supply instead. On that +5V you can connect an LED to reflect the ON/OFF status of that board. All these are just to preserve the power drain of your motherboard so that little to no current varriations will occur, resulting to a more stable PC. TonyStovepipe Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Thank you I will look about adding a power supply like you said. I don't know a great deal about doing that but I will find some tutorials on YouTube I hope. Thanks again.
MTFDarkEagle Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Agreed with Abburo. If you have any electrics knowledge, you can even pull power from your current pc's power supply. The old molex connector (http://cdn.overclock.net/3/3c/350x700px-LL-3caee271_molex_extension.jpeg) comes in handy for that. I use one of those from my PSU to power my AHCP led's. TonyStovepipe Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 I got few of them but would I need something like a converter to make the power less powerful for the leds? I have made my own little flight sim panel but that was just with theLeo board and also using cheap USB control pads and soldering switches up to them. Not done much else other then the basic stuff :) Thank you.
MTFDarkEagle Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Just use multiple led's in series and put a resistor in the circuit. Have a look at this: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/led.html Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
