chobbsUH60 Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Hi everyone i have been playing dcs for about 6 months now so yes, first lemme start off by saying i am pretty damn new. Also i would like to apologize if this has been covered already but i have spent a lot of time researching trying to fix this and get back up in the virtual sky. So, now to the problem, ive been trying to get the a-10c start-up procedure down and ive got most of it pretty good including radio presets and navigation setup but on the taxi to the runway is where i first encountered the problem. My rudders are stuck to the left. I have checked the calibration on my saitek x52 in windows multiple times but everytime it checks out fine. i have tried to reset the axis in the controls screen to no avail. im at the point where i have uninstalled dcs and am now in the process of reinstalling it but if this doesnt work then i would like your guys' opinions. i have been diagnosing the problem by getting into instant action and just inputing some rudder and everytime i release the input the rudder snaps to full left Any feedback would b much appreciated, Thanks
159th_Viper Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Welcome :) Sounds like a controller conflict. At default your rudder-axis is assigned to all your peripherals you have plugged in to your PC. While you're at it you also might want to add curve to your axis so they are less sensitive near the centre. So i checked this already but i dont know if i did it as thoroughly as your talking about. all i did was check the axis command page and make sure that no other keys are mapped in on that same line. One other thing that probably will be helpful to mention is that this is a very recent problem and the only change ive made very recently is to download the new drivers from saitek, and downloaded the SST so i can manage profiles straight from the profile editor. is there something in the SST i should check or maybe im just thinking too hard? Thanks again
159th_Viper Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Disable SST and see if the issue persists. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? chobbsUH60 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 ok, disabled SST and problem is still there. Even in the Axis Tune screen the rudder is still sticking on the left side no matter what i do.
flyco Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 If in doubt, substitute one possible cause at a time. If your stick works OK try assigning one of those axes to your rudder input in Option>Controls -remembering to delete the true rudder input. If rudders work then the fault is most probably a physical one in the rudder controller itself. However, like most have said, it is probably another control input to the rudder; it could be a button or key input. For example, if opening the throttle gives you a pitch change then it's a rogue input. I suggest you go to Controls and check that there is no input from any source to your rudder, other than the one you want Good luck Flyco
chobbsUH60 Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 ok flyco i tried deleting the other sources but 2 things. 1. i didnt try restarting the game do you think that would help? and 2. would i need to scroll through every single aircraft and delete every single input or just the one?
bad-andy Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) A10C Xbox 360 Controller Rudder Configuration Hi All, I had trouble configuring my Xbox 360 controller to handle rudder inputs in DCS World, never found an answer on the web, but I finally figured it out. Originally I had the rudder mapped to the bumpers, but it was way too touchy, either all or none. This is what I found. Under A10C Sim/Controls/Flight Controls/Fly: Rudder Left - Click the Controller (Xbox 360) box and from the bottom menu click Clear. Repeat for Fly:Rudder Right. Click OK. Under A10C Sim/Axis Commands/Rudder - Click Controller (Xbox 360) box, then from the menu at the bottom of the screen click Add which will bring up the Add Assignment Panel. Click the Key/Button drop-down menu and select Joy_Z and click OK. Now select Axis Tune from the bottom menu. Select the Invert checkbox, then set the curvature to +30, or your preference, then click OK. You should now have incremental rudder control for your left and right triggers. :) Edited September 20, 2014 by bad-andy [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] MB GIGABYTE | GA-Z68XP-UD3P Z68 R __ VGA XFX | HD-695X-ZNFC HD6950 1G R PSU CORSAIR | 750W CMPSU-750TXV2 R __ CPU INTEL|CORE I7 2600K 3.4G 8M R MEM 16G|GSKILL F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR __ HDD 1T|WD WD10EARX SATA6G 64M % MNTR ASUS|LCD 23" 2MS VH236H RT __ Xbox 360 USB GamepadIf you're going through hell, keep going. ~ Winston Churchill
