HI alll

I have read all posts about DCS WW2 and it's problematics.

AS backer of that project, I need to say that I'm satisfied with how the things are going.

It says many times that map development is expensive, so I ask myself why ED doesn't use existing map in scenario, for example Battle for Caucaus (Operation Edelweiss). In my opinion, that way the map and scenario wouldn't cost so much.:pilotfly:

My guess is they don't want to directly compete with IL2:BoS right now...

Possibly.

And the planned aircraft would be out of place on the map. And the existing map only covers the extreme southerly part of the Caucaus front anyway.

To be honest, as DCS WW2 will primarily be used as an air-to-air

combat simulator, I couldn't really give a donkeys if they simulated flying over that Atlantic ocean. A beautiful rendition of the ground is nice, but is window dressing. What I want are a good selection of well modeled aircraft and decent AI in the opposing aircaft. .

not so much interested in an eastern front scenario.besides with the current announced planes it wouldnt fit anyway.im quite happy with the theater they chose.next on my list would be central europe, then MTO and PTO

Agreed, it'd need a complete revamp, and as previously stated, it wouldn't suit the projected aircraft mix anyway.

Nice idea, but I guess it'll not be taken up.
