CallsignFrosty Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I have seen a few threads discussing flight pedals, however I would like to know which ones represent the best VALUE FOR MONEY. I would rather not spend the £175 for the saitek combat pedals, however on the other hand I don't want to purchase the cheaper pro flight pedals if they feel cheap or under-perform significantly. If anyone could help me out or are selling some then I'd love to hear from you :) THE TWISTGRIP MUST BE GONE FROM MY VIRTUAL FLYING
Griffin Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) In your price range the only options are CH and Saitek pedals. If you've seen the recent posts on this forum, Saitek pedals do have their problems and might break with time. If you like to fly helicopters, throw about £75 more and you'll get the amazing Komodo Simulations ProAT pedals. For anything else I would suggest the MFG Crosswind pedals for about £230. They have received a lot of praise in reviews. You get what you pay for and for a wee over £50 more to your budget you'll get proper pedals and not some flimsy plasticky Saiteks. Do yourself a favor and save one more month, you won't regret it! Edited July 15, 2014 by Griffin
CallsignFrosty Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Thanks for the input, I'm in no rush ;)
Chief1942 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 $$$$ is always an issue Frosty, I think most of us are at or were at one time at the decision point you currently find yourself. I've been at this a long time and have gone through Thrustmaster pedals, CH, Saitek, and now have the privilege to own a pair of Crosswinds. If you are at the point where money is of primary concern, and who of us hasn't been in that position, then you will enjoy the Saitek pedals from a cost/performance standpoint. I used a set for years and they were still working fine when I finally bought into the Crosswinds. Like flight sticks/throttles, there are many out there to choose from and each comes with its own issues/strengths. The old adage "you get what you pay for" has merit. One can hardly be faulted for waiting until they can afford a quality product as there is a reason for the added expense. But do try to make a decision when you feel it is appropriate as flying with rudder pedals gives even more immersion to the whole flight sim genre'. You will be rewarded for whatever investment you make. 1 Intel i5-4690K Devil's Canyon, GForce TitanX, ASUS Z-97A MB, 16GB GDDR3 GSkill mem, Samsung SSD X3,Track IR, TM Warthog, MFG Crosswind pedals, Acer XB280HK monitor,GAMETRIX KW-908 JETSEAT
sobek Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 ;2118178']I'm in no rush ;) Then save for the crosswind pedals. :) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

In an ideal world I would go and buy the crosswinds today, but having just found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Saitek-Pro-Gamer-Rudder-Pedals/dp/B000H67DDY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405497248&sr=8-1&keywords=flight+pedals I think I'll get these for now and when I have a more stable income I'll see about getting some crosswinds :D Cheers everyone edit: because they are MENTALLY cheap
