Flagrum Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) That's only if nothing can be truly wrong. If something is truly wrong, like murder or theft, then good and evil is not just a perspective thing. I'd say they're quite different, I don't see how the latter makes sense. This could make for a good discussion, but I think it's in the wrong spot. Imo there is no absoulte right or wrong - it also depends on the perspective and circumstances. No black or white ... but all grey. Is it right to kill a man? No? Then why do you go to a "just" war? Or is it only sometimes right and sometimes not? Is it wrong if someone steals a bread? What if he was hungry and starving? Etc., etc. "Ethics" is no law of nature like "Gravity". Ethics is made up by man and is influence, maybe completely determined by the situation and circumstances man lives in. Different locations, different times ... different ethics. edit: just saw it now, yeah, perhaps the wrong thread for this... but I will not delete my posting now. Is that right? Or is that wrong? ;o) Edited July 22, 2014 by Flagrum
Flagrum Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 The J model (and later) cobras have a 20mm on the chin turret, Yes, but we were talking about a Huey. :o) The speed advantage isn't so great that the Ka-50 will be able to get to stand-off range before the Huey can bring weapons to bear. I still give the advantage to the Ka-50, but you could have a good fight if it started in close. The Ka-50 pilot will have to be carefull, for sure. But I would bet something like 7 or 8 out of 10 the Ka-50 would still win.
Flagrum Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 To those who say "What if they had a war and nobody showed up?" or a derivative, I always ask "What if they had a war and only one side showed up?" Yeah, sure, but ... but what, if we were the bad guys ...? Unthinkable, eh? ;o)

Geronimo989 Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 I tried it with a couple of friends with Hueys vs Ka-50, and the Ka-50 won every time. We were about equally skilled.
leafer Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 it's a 30mm, even deadlier :) if any helicopter gets hit by one of these in the right spot, it's game over Ka-50 would easily win. It has better armour, over double the engine power, it's faster, more manoeuvrable, and has optics and a HMD Isn't it that .30 cal mean 3/10th of an inch not equal to 30mm cannon. I am just saying because .50 cal is more powerful then .30 cal but it is not anyway near 30mm cannon. You can see the difference in the attached image. That 30mm thing will blow Huey's tail away in one shot. Oh, I did not know caliber and mm are different. The biggest caliber I've fired were the HK G3s. Thanks. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Emu Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 The J model (and later) cobras have a 20mm on the chin turret, but even with 2xfixed 20mm on the mounts you could have a fair fight under the right conditions. The speed advantage isn't so great that the Ka-50 will be able to get to stand-off range before the Huey can bring weapons to bear. I still give the advantage to the Ka-50, but you could have a good fight if it started in close. I think you can get a flex mount LR30 for Hueys??? 1:15 Still wouldn't fancy its chances though.
